Hi All,

Not seen many UK spec DC2s sold recently. What a are prices on them these days? e.g. rot box / fair / good / A1 conditions? In about a years time these will be able to be shipped to US market.

Can anyone guide?
There wont be any interest in UKDM DC2's in the states, they had their own version in way of the acura integra type r, why would they want our rot boxes.

It's JDM dc2's that are the hot ticket.

Except that their value in America of the original white DC2 in particular is much higher than in the UK ... and there must be some very good ones in the UK ... I sold one last year on CC.

Be cheaper to import a high grade jdm dc2 from Japan than any nice ukdm dc2 from the uk and they are also better cars.

Id be suprised if anyone ever has or will import a uk dc2 to the states.

JDM DC2 stock is drying up, most have been exported already, many to the UK

If by 2023 you don’t know then it won’t matter to you. But besides them looking better and only available in Japan, unlike the round headlights sold all over the world;

995-1997 JDM

Max Power: 200ps @ 7900rpm
Max Torque: 134lb ft @ 7200rpm
Length/width/height: 4400/1705/1320mm
Weight: 1060kg
Max Speed: 145mph
0-60mph: 6.2 seconds

1998-2001 JDM

Max Power: 200ps @ 7900rpm
Max Torque: 137lb ft @ 6200rpm
Length/width/height: 4400/1705/1335mm
Weight: 1100kg
Max Speed: 145mph
0-60mph: 6.2 seconds

1998-2001 UKDM

Max Power: 187bhp @ 7900rpm
Max Torque: 131lb ft @ 7200rpm
Length/width/height: 4400/1705/1335mm
Weight: 1140kg
Max Speed: 145mph
0-60mph: 6.5 seconds

Yea so there may be a demand for jdm ones from the uk to the states, I know a number of ek9’s have made that journey, but I can’t see a demand for ukdm to the states when it’s identical to what they have already and is not jdm.

Seems like you have an attitude problem. It goes without saying the looks are a matter of taste and have nothing to do with a car being better or worse than another!

You also just posted numbers, which is convenient and unhelpful.

It's a well known fact the power difference between the two is down to a different manifold which adds 5 bhp at best and 100 RON fuel, do enlighten me about where the supposed 40kg weight difference comes from though since you think you know so much!

You have also conveniently emitted the fact the 96 spec car has smaller front brakes and the 98 spec has larger alloys which in many people's eyes is a backwards step in feel.

I thought the "JDM is much betta coz" kids all grew up, maybe there's a few still left biggrin

That UKDM for £23k can't be a bad price, purely as there's not many left with low mileage. Many cars these days have high miles or been stripped for parts by the "Breakers".

Mine is tucked up in the garage needing a bit of an overhaul. New calipers have arrived and I have the RM01A to go on (once I've sourced a JDM CAT).

Surly the big plus of buying a JDM car over UK is rust. I have owned two of these cars and both needed the rear arches mending. One was 32k miles and it was bad.

The car I linked was completely original and arguably in the better launch colour ... as per the images of the underside.

Paint thicknesses were all original across every panel.

As for UV damage, only the top of the rear seat had turned slightly purple from the original black, again confirming the cars originality.

There are cars and cars ...

They are lovely cars ... I've owned two ... my only concern was that the gearing was much shorter than I remembered from my first car ... even though I have shortened the gearing of my GT4 (which did need it).

I’ve put a deposit on this. Prices have certainly gone up Tue last few years but I’m willing to pay for a good one.
I justify it that people pay 30-40k for RS turbos!!
