Before you go for more power, get it to handle properly and stop properly.

Lowering it will not make it any more skittish unless it's badly done.

Some decent discs and pads all round.
Stopping definitely needs a look..! I’m happy doing discs and pads myself. Will get a garage to do a full fluid flush first.

The plan is to use it on dry days over the winter and then see how much enjoyment we get next spring and summer. If it’s a keeper then we’ll think about doing more to it.

Probably just through lack of use, id try something like Autoglym interior shampoo first as it doesnt smell as bad as white vinegar.
Yes, I think so.

Good call on Autoglym interior shampoo - I have that at home.

Ive been thinking about one of these with a hard top as a daily as im just not using my garage queen that much anymore.
Ive looked at the BBR site myself at the mods, seems like the Turbo conversion would be the way to go if you wanted more grunt but obviously costs a fair bit.
Ive read there is very little lag with them too so doesnt spoil the characteristics of the car.
Doesnt seem an unreasonable amount of money for the gains though, especially if the car was cheap to buy.
You can build an epic car for under £10k though and when you consider what you would pay for something equivalent it seems good value if its a long term keeper.
