What do Apexi make that would be fitted to a N/A car?
Discussion
OK, took a couple of pics as it doesn't seem to be the same as any on that link:
When you start the car it cycles through the LED indicators on the front and then settles at the bottom. As you can see the dial is set to -10. What do these numbers relate to? Is this set to ultra safe/conservative values? What happens if I turn it up? Can I safely? Anybody shed more light on what I can do.
The car feels sluggish at the moment but it is in desperate need of a service (can't confirm it's had a service for nearly 2 years although it's only done 4k miles in that time).
Thoughts?

sounds patronising but don't bother fiddling if you're not familiar with them.
The afc = air fuel computer, you can adjust your AFR at given rev increments, not sure what they are on the older ones. I'm sure most local tuners will have experience of them, vixpy too I imagine
SAFC I'd be able to help more with, never had a look at the older AFC but I guess the principle will be the same

At a guess I'd say the percentage bar relates to the injector duty, and the dial relates to how much fuel it piles on, and the reason yours is feeling sluggish is that there's not enough fuel getting through, but I'm not sure on it. I'll check. apexi USA usually have all their manuals available online for the SAFC's, maybe the AFC's if you're lucky. I'll ask a mate who I know used to use one before going to SAFCII.

Guys, I really appreciate it!
I understand what it's doing and I've had a read up, but it only seems to have the one dial so I can't adjust it over different RPM ranges. I am wondering if they are %ages having read the manual for a later AFC - so -10% means it is down on power. Tempting to adjust to 0 and see what happens, but will get it service & checked over first.
If anybody can find a manual or further info there's definitely a couple of virtual pints in it for them

Can't seem to find any more about it without a model number. Apexi don't even seem to have an email address on their website so have guessed a customer.services email address
Have studied manual and I think there are just a couple pages on its operation rather than the set up / wiring up stuff, so I may have to try and get it translated somewhere!!

Just found this:
www.fd3s.net/afc_manual_gen1.pdf
It's a really early S-AFC manual, but the layout is very similar to the Jap one I have in front of me. The Diagrams correspond in section 5 - which is how to use it.
What it doesn't explain is what the lights are for, I guess it may be for setting up...
Will set it to 0% later and see if it's perkier
