There was sponsorship and the provision of materials / help from several large corporations, there was money raised from merchandise sales, and above all, thousands of hours given free by a core of less than 20 volunteers. If this had been done as a commercial paying exercise, one can easily make a case for it having a cost which would run into the £ millions. Not K7 related, however, it’s a Jaguar I wasn’t aware DC owned. It was a bit of a surprise to me. I’m a relative youngster on this history and understood his preference was an E type.

For some reason I think it’s sale is somewhat fortuitous following recent events.
Having read the article, it does make one wonder how a car like this fell into such disrepair ? Only to surface again now..

Having read the article, several things alarmed me. Firstly this registration plate belongs to a 1998 Aston Martin but maybe the seller just put it on for history's sake. But when I read further and see that the owner bought it from Derek Hood, the then owner of JD Classics I started to smell a rat. One must remember that Derek Hood is currently being sued for fraud by the purchasers of JD Classics for £64 million and that he was sued - and won his case - for £9 million by Mr Tuke. I would need a full check that the chassis number, the engine and cylinder head numbers match the Heritage Certificate and a full examination of the car and the history to even think of going further.

I had a good conversation today with the auction house, and he was really up to the mark. We have also verified that the chassis number ended in DN, which proved that the car left Jaguar with an overdrive fitted. A most pleasant conversation, and all my queries were well answered. I don't like to criticise , but when an important Jaguar comes up for sale I hope that I can offer help to verify that it is what it says on the tin. I once had a car offered at up to £7 million withdrawn as a fake.

I’m no supporter of Bill, I’m totally impartial ( yet I do think he did a good job) . However, there was a good reason he ran it on loch Faad.
