I wish you good luck! The landlord of my local is a Brentford STH so we often talk about football and our teams- I'm a WBA fan - which last season was quite competitive, but in hindsight us pipping you to promotion last season seems now like a blessing in disguise for you. Hopefully you will get that promotion this season and will be able to enjoy your first PL season there in person, rather than the non-event (in so many ways) this season has become for us.
My son and i were absolutely gutted losing the play off last season, however like you say in a weird way its hopefully going to work in our favor. The thought of not being at the ground and playing in the prem would be gutting. Seems to be a lot of love for Brentford, which makes me feel proud to be a life long supporter

I know - Doh
plenty of games and points on the table but we need to get back on track quickly. Saturday was a nightmare
Something else I know as a Leeds fans are those new year lulls in form. Hope you do it - variety is the spice of life and it'd be nicer to see Brentford in the top flight vs the likes of Forest and Derby who seem to be (quite funnily) lurching from one disaster to another in between murmurings of being a big club etc etc.plenty of games and points on the table but we need to get back on track quickly. Saturday was a nightmare

Back on track and a decent win tonight
Yep.....unfortunately, the 2 teams on the Bees heels all won as well...need Watford and Swansea to lose a match or two as well in coming weeks...to get that points gap back ( and keep winning as well)nicanary said:

Big game on wed away to Norwich, could be a defining moment in the season
As a Canary I'm happy to forecast a score of 1-2 to Brentford. I've followed Norwich for 50+ years and I know what they're capable of.Amazing isn't it. I remember the game you guys went 2 up and Harlee Dean scored to give us hope. You won 2-1 went up and the following season we finished 2nd and got promotion. Since then we haven't looked back with an amazing owner, money ball tactics and some incredible buying and selling business. New stadium cost the club £0, infact eco world paid us and over the past few seasons we have made circa 75mill from selling players. It just shows if a club is run in the right way dreams can happen. My only regret is my Dad isn't alive to witness this. I truly hope yeovil get it back on track and you can enjoy a similar journey

Really enjoyed Saturday's match.
I'm a Wolves fan and have been hoping Brentford reached the Premier League for a few years now. Used to enjoy battles with Brentford when I was a young kid when they had Gary Blissett and Dean Holdsworth etc. Then when they dropped from the second tier they became a bit of a nothing club for years to most outsiders. Then when we dropped to League One, it was such an enjoyable season and Brentford looked really fresh and you tell something good was building there then. Leyton Orient looked similar, but since then they fell to pieces and went in completely the opposite direction. Hopefully back on track now, with our manager from that time, Kenny Jackett just taking over.
I think Brentford have been the best team in the Championship for 3 years now. Or have certainly played the best football. They've just been lacking that bit of bottle at the business end. I think Saturday showed a bit of what had been missing because they really had to dig deep. The final is going to be tough though and they need to be mentally strong. I do think they should have won the league this season. They had a slightly nervous start to the season and dropped an unexpected few point, guessing a combination of a hangover from last season's play-off final defeat and bedding a few new faces in after losing a few key players (as usual). They also dropped a few unexpected points when they had the chance to go top mid season-ish IIRC. Norwich won the league comfortably in the end, but they only lost the same number of games as Norwich, just had too many draws. They need to find that extra bit of bottle to get through the final, as to lose two finals in two seasons, it's going to be difficult to bounce back from that. Last season I can't believe they didn't get second. Albion did everything they possibly could to throw that away and you'd have thought Brentford only needed a sniff to get back in, but completely blew it.
You've got to admire a club that can pluck so many players from complete obscurity to most people in this country. Sell almost all of the players that made a name for themselves and replace them cheaply again with even better and repeat that cycle so many times now and build a new stadium off the back of it. Really though Benrahma and Watkins would be a step too far to replace and when they signed Toney I didn't think he'd be a great success. Wolves had come close to signing Toney when he was at Northampton before he went to Newcastle and it's took him a long time to really get himself back on track. Don't get me wrong, I knew he was a decent striker, but didn't think he was the right style for Brentford and certainly didn't see him setting a new Championship goalscoring record, but Brentford's scouts clearly saw something they could work with!
Also, a lot of teams would have got rid of Thomas Frank quite early on as it took him a while to get going, but they are hopefully going to reap the rewards now.
Really glad they got one over on Bournemouth too. When they won the league last time, I never saw such use of the dark arts to win so many points and get away with it so much. There were still signs of that in this team on Saturday.
Good luck!
Wow you certainly know all about the highs and the lows us Bees fans have gone though. I really hope we get the job done on Saturday. 10th time lucky I'm a Wolves fan and have been hoping Brentford reached the Premier League for a few years now.
