Two Questions.
When I bought my used Mazda 3 back in 2022 ( at 20K miles ) I got the pads replaced after a couple of months due to squeaking.
Squeaking continued, got much better, but recently has regular squeaking again when braking at low speeds. Last service about 7 months ago they said the pads were at 7mm rear and 8mm front.

Is getting OEM ( Genuine Mazda ) pads, discs, shims and sliders a good idea to rectify this ? I'm thinking the cause of the squeak is from the discs rather than pads.

Second question.
I am not sure if this is related to the brakes or not.
I turn sharp left or right and whilst going round the corner I hear squeak squeak squeak, then as soon as I straighten my steering wheel it stops. This does not happen all the time, only now and again. I think it could be something to do with the lower control arm ball joint or bushing.

This morning in slow moving traffic it was squeaking ( with the wheel straight ), then as soon as I applied the brakes it would stop making noise.

Surely cannot be the wear indicators because they would make horrendous noise all the time.
The squeaking when braking at low speeds is very common, however squeaking round corners is not.

Any ideas ?
Thanks

I would be going along the lines of checking everything is good as above & if that is all good I would be thinking that you likely have a pad or 2 that is still slightly in contact with the disc as you come off the brakes, this then causes the squeak as the suspension/bearings move fractionally under cornering.

Yeah that is exactly what I thought.
Booked in with the mechanic next week so hopefully we can rectify this. Some days is worse than others. I have checked the temperature of each wheel after a longish drive at higher speeds and they all felt identical. So I am hoping it's nothing too serious.

Had the brakes cleaned by mechanic ( re lubricate sliders, use brake grease at contact points of the pads ) and all the squeaking when braking has now thankfully stopped.

They said nothing was sticking and all seemed OK.

Still get some squeaking when full lock left ( occasionally ), it is definitely the brakes as when I apply them the noise stops. At least I know where it's coming from now.

Pads and discs will be replaced later in the year. Hopefully will fix that.
Done some reading and there are other Mazda owners who have squeaking from their brakes when turning so I am not alone.
