I’m set on having one of these - it’s now the same size (actually more usable cargo space) as the current Connect I have.
Price is good with some discount too, so I popped along to my dealer to sit in one.

Tiny. The cabin is such a squeeze for me (6’ 3.5”…)
Knees banging the steering wheel no matter how I adjust the seat and wheel, and the clutch pedal so close to the side bulkhead there’s nowhere to put your foot except on the pedal.

I really need a petrol van due to the sub 5k miles a year I do, so tried the Nissan Townstar but whilst it was ok it just felt a bit meh..

Not much else out there that’s petrol though..

Oh - quoted a 32 week lead time yikes

I'm the same height and find them comfortable enough to be fair. What spec are you looking for? I've been offered Leaders in white and Limiteds in colours for immediate delivery recently
I’m long in the leg which hinders somewhat.
Haven’t taken it for a drive so it may be different when moving, but I’m not sure..
My Connect is a perfect fit even with the fixed bulkhead.

I’ve got a Ltd now and would have the same, or an Active but in metallic blue, with a few extras added.

How about the last shape VW Caddy. 2022 did a petrol engine. The new Connect will also get the 1.0 Ecoboost. Have you sat in one of these?
The Caddy just seems very expensive and we also have a Golf with the same interior - I’m not overly fussed tbh.
As regards to the new Connect, it’s surely going to be a fair bit bigger to sit between the Courier and the Transit.
That is, if it ever does appear.

To the original post,
I presume you tried the current Transit courier and not the brand new one due in the UK in March?

Ford dealer told me demonstrators don’t arrive until end of Jan and new van stock doesnt arrive until end of March, the MPV version will be ‘summer’ time for first delivery,

That was the message before Christmas as we intend to get 2 of these vans to replace ageing Fiat Fiorinos.
Interestingly Fiat still sell the Fiorino van.
This was the new one I tried.
Sandicliffe Nottingham have a white Limited in the showroom, due to be a demo next week.

I notice Fiat do a petrol Doblo which I may take a closer look at.

The fiats are dire! Have you tried SWB Connect or even Berlingo/Partner?
I have a swb (L1) Connect now.
In fact, I’ve had 5 Connects since they came out starting in 2002.

The Berlingo and Partner just don’t have the equipment levels to match the Limited Connects.
Looks like no petrol versions either?

I was offered first drive in my local dealers demo, but as I don’t fit in it there’s not much point laugh

Looks a decent van though, and the square load area maximises space.

I don’t do PCP on vans - just straight HP, but I’m guessing 0% HP like I currently have won’t be coming back soon.
I have however, been offered £1600 dealer discount.

Been for another sit in one - still no demos ready to drive and I have the chance to get an Active that’s on its way at the end of the month.

Eventually got comfortable in it - seems there’s more room than I thought.

So, I’d go for the petrol eco boost but assume it’s the wet belt version (salesman wasn’t sure..) and as this would probably be my last van I’d need it to last 6-7 years or more.

Same, still only 1 in the showroom and none available to test drive.
Don’t suppose you have any idea if the ecoboost is an updated version without the welt belt do you?

I’ve read conflicting views the engine was updated around 2020.
No one seems to know for sure though..

Picked an Active up today.
Drives well and surprisingly pokey for 999cc.
A little bit smaller in the cab than the Connect but still comfortable enough.

As previously mentioned, the new Courier is a Volswagen, built by Volkswagen, with VW part numbers all over it.
VW don’t have a van the same size as the new Courier.
It’s built in Romania on the same line as the Puma, as it has Puma underpinnings.

The new Transit Connect is shared with VW though.
