Its an agm, not an sla, but I am waiting on a bit of stainless getting folded as a heatshield,/road debris guard, will get it next time I am collecting from the fabricators. angle of the photo doesnt show it but there is about 3 inches of clearance. Its literally the only place the big bd will fit without protruding below the sill line. I have 2 spares if I cook that one.
AGM same as SLA, the only one that can withstand higher temps is Lithium. Around 30% more expensive though & needs different charging regimes.

oh well, it is what it is, without it protruding past the sill line, or losing the spare wheel thats where it needs to live. I just checked it after a 120 mile run tonight and it was cold, probably the only time it will get warm is in a long traffic jam. the stainless should reflect a lot away.
Its only a 4 cylinder or a side exit exhaust would be an alternative, maybe next year, I was eyeing up the safrane v6 diesel auto to see if it would fit, and at first glance it looks do able. It is the only manual on my fleet now and it would suit a v6 with a slushbox. need to decide if we are keeping it long term.

Maybe you can build a heat exchanger around the exhaust upstream of the battery to heat your hot water while you are driving and keep the battery cool at the same time biggrin

Looks good, could you use that heat wrap stuff they use on motorbike exhausts to give a bit of extra protection on that area?
