I couldn't disagree more with the thoughts above saying it "looks like a base model".

Look at the wheel arches! That isn't something stuck on like the bumpers or wheels.

In a world where shopping cars are dressed up and priced up with twin exhausts and stick on parts, its nice they didn't turn it up to 11 to stand out. It's already at 10 as it is.

One adjustment for me would be the wheels, they should be shadow chrome. Although maybe plain silver works in person.

They arent exactly bulging are they?

I like that it has silver wheels, thats about it.

I think it looks great especially in that colour scheme. Shame most people will order it in some kind of black edition. So only goth spec available when I fancy a second hand one.

The arches here are better.

It's the ridiculous front arch gap that annoys me. A set of springs (and possibly spacers) would make it look much more purposeful, but it shouldn't need them.

It says a lot when they tend to present a car from the back angle, despite it not being a looker from the back either.
Also, if it wasn’t for the 4 tailpipes I wouldn’t know it’s the M. It could be a 420d. Maybe it’s the colour?

beyond needing the space, it’s hard to see how the leap to an M8 from here could be justified
Surely the M8 is smaller inside? The rear seats of an 8 series coupe or convertible aren’t that usable…

The M8 does avoid the divisive grill though!

That’s going to be a tough sell. The convertible 3/4 series has always been more of a cruiser than sports car. As such the 8 series or indeed a lower spec non M , 4 series offers a better bet. If you want something more sporting then bmw have the Z4 available too.

I like the colour of the wheels but it looks like it has too small feet and not nearly special enough on those.

I really enjoyed driving a F83 M4 Convertible back in 2016, so I do get the appeal of them. Plus my BIL had an E93 M3 Convertible for 11 years as well as his occasional car.
BIL??

I agree, this car is like blobby.

Weirdly this car reminds me when you walk down a street and see a girl that has a hot body and figure from the rear. But then when you see her face you think wtf.

The rear and the front of this car just does not go.

Better with a 420i cab than this, surely?

Can’t imagine flinging this around the apexes and not be drifting down to st tropez, lazily egging the 4 cyl engine on

I quite like the idea of these - I'm semi-seriously thinking about getting a 911 convertible in the next year or so but really, on any objective basis, with two still-small-but-rapidly-growing kids a lightly used one of these would make much more sense. The trouble is that on any subjective basis a 911 wins hands down.

And re the colour - I know that when there's a car that isn't black, white, or grey I'm supposed to say it's good because it's different, but this looks awful IMO, like driving around in liver.
