Only 67 made... the boss man took one home for the weekend and came back and said it was shite and pulled the plug.

IMO the back of that BMW looks like almost identical to the rear of the 1980's MG EXE concept car.

I'd sway more towards a lovechild of a Jag XJ220 and an NSX. Still wouldnt half mind owning one though :P

Two of the prettiest and rarest cars ever made:

Alfa 33 Stradale - only 18 of these EDIT: Doh, beaten to it!

Jaguar XJ13 - Just the one!

A less elegant but just as desirable for me RUF CTR "Yellowbird" - only 29 ground up builds, all the rest were conversions

A few more of these but still uber rare, the F288 GTO - 272 cars

Something a little closer to home, my brothers S1 S135 Elise (only 50 from the original run, a second run of 25 was done, but they were slightly different and carried the S135'99 sticker)

thought my car deserves a mention here- by no means desirable as all the other exotic cars in this thread (no point posting a picture, as its no looker!)

Rover 420 turbo- aparently only 500 were made with the turbo engine. probably only half of those are still on the road

Post a picture, also no lookers are welcome, and there are always people who like those, that's why they get sold at the time they came out.

This thread is also very handy when your looking for something special in futere car shopping, that's why I started itbiggrin sadly most are a bit expensivehehe

That doesnt look right. 308/328 Conversion? Looks too short and doesnt have the rear slats.

Anyone else agree?

Was a good idea for a thread. - I'd never even seen half of the cars here- and i thought i was quite a petrolhead!

Heres some pics of my mundane car:

loads of these made, but only 500 with the turbo engine. As far as i'm aware, it wasnt a limited run, it was just everyone wanted the 220 turbo coupe! no-one wanted a fast rover saloon. Except for me, year later! Cheapest, rarest, practical 2nd hand fast car money can buy :-)

Indeed the picture above does not look like a real 288GTO maybe its a kit-kar? or its a wrong angle? here a real one:

OK, not a sports car, but pretty rare.
A 1947 Lincoln Continental Convertible I drove earlier this year.

Guess that 1947 Lincoln Continental Convertible felt like a tank to drive? looks pretty heavy? pretty rare I guess.

Column gear change, bench seat, no power steering. Yep, heavy going.
I believe there are only five left running in the world and this is the only one in the UK.
I get to drive all sorts at the car auction.

Cheers for that GTRene! It looks even better then I remembered. IIRC top trump card said £200+mph and 0-60 in 3.2sec. Front reminds me of a body building corvette and a bit of Knight Rider KITT. Would look amazing coming up behind in the rear view mirror! I really really want one, almost as much as I want the black Panther Six!
Hey there's one for sale here in NZ - Built for Le Mans so fully race prepped. No indication of price but bidding starts at NZD $60000 (around 20000UK)

If you keep an eye out in West Yorkshire you may see a 968 Turbo S in black that belongs to a local Porsche nut.
