Indeed. I need one of those on my driveway.... must sell the wife and kill the house for insurance.
I can arrange the latter
although I suppose you could have the wife inside the house at the time and kill two stones with one bird

I know these are great cars, but they are concepts and as such were never intended for production. So, not so much 'rare' as 'unproduced'.
Just my 2p.
Perhaps. The XK180 nearly made it as the F-Type, but both of these were fully functional, so a bit different to motor show eye candy that doesn't run. If that one off Ferrari is allowed, don't see why these aren't

I suppose it's subjective really. In my view, the Ferrari was commissioned as a 'one-off' production - ie. built so it can be used. It's built on a fully functional production chassis and has almost been 'coachbuilt' in the same way as many vintage cars were.
The XK180 (Never anything to do with the F-Type which was always going to be a smaller car) was purely a concept. Although a 'runner' it is not fully engineered to be used on the road - where are the wipers? That screen is not your average nearly flat laminated glass, so it causes distortions in the view ahead.
But, like i say, it's subjective really.

What's the deal with the Lancia Hyena? Is it a Zagato design because it bears a striking resemblance to a Zagato model (concept?) with Audi A3 mechanicals (engine, interior fittings). The car was green in colour - I read it in an old issue of Autocar some years ago.
Yep, it's a Zagato design over Lancia Delta integrale mechanicals. Nor sure which integrale, though.
When I spoke to the guys who make those hyena's(long time ago) they say and I saw it too! they used the latest EVO cars for it so thats why they also sell a lot of used parts that came of the EVO delta's... and I bought such lovely EVO 2? bonnet, I also believed they said they wanted 75 cars to be build, but I guess tehy never maked them all..so between 30 or 40 could be right..

To my knowledge only 24 Hyenas were made.
The original plan was to build the cars up from Integrale floorpans/drivetrains supplied straight from the factory, and the intention was to have the vehicle produced in reasonable numebrs and offered through Lancia dealerships. As I understand it, a change of management and heart at the factory scuppered this, and meant that each car built had to be produced from a dismantled whole Integrale, with the body etc thrown away! A very expensive way to produce a car, and this effectively killed the project.
The Hyena's bodywork is made from alluminium and composite, and the interior is entirely Carbon Fibre, with the dash made from a single moulding! This, combined with the reduced dimensions mean it has a significant weight advantage over the standard car, and subsequently goes very well indeed!!

Hyena stuff
Thanks for this info - I've always found these cars interesting. Owning both, are the headlights the same on the SZ and the Hyena? And are the dials the same as the RZ (i.e. the same as the SZ but white rather than black)? Finally, what are all the dials for?
JB - The Hyena instrumention was lifted from the 8.32, with white faces.
