Are the manifolds not pretty much unobtanium these days?
I don't know tbh, it's a while since I needed one. If it was an issue now, I'd probably just get a batch made.

IMO an auto box suits the laid-back nature of the E36 chassis (in the 'cooking' models at least); even the M3s weren't the be all and end all in terms of driving dynamics or involvement, the main appeal for me when driving them being the engine. Given the lower models don't even have that, I don't see anything wrong with an auto 320i-328i - and I say this as someone who bought a £1k 323i manual as a daily driver 5-6 years ago before people started paying silly money for them.

Wish I was in a position to buy and fix, quiet fancy a manual straight six estate. There was none within 250 miles when I was looking for a new car last year, love the styling and design of them.

And yet fails to acknowledge it.

So few genuinely nice ones are left, the one I linked looks a lovely thing to smoke around in.

A quality future investment, only another £10k needed to make it worth £5k.

"A swing-bin liner full of Euro crisps"

I hated that podcast at first, I thought no way can i get on board with something so puerile.

2 months later I don't miss an episode and it's the only podcast to *guarantee* laughing out loud every episode. It's like going back in time 30 years to the back seat of the bus to Manchester grammar.

I sold my 328iA about a month ago after 7.5 years. The engine is lovely, the auto box is as dim-witted as you’d imagine, but doesn’t ruin the experience. For the sake of the £1.5k it would cost, I’d manual swap if I got another (I won’t).

As a modern classic, the E36 sits in the space of being modern enough to be usable, but old enough to be engaging. There’s a standard list of mods to do (bushes, steering rack etc) to add some pep, and it’s all worthwhile.

Going through a phase of old Japanese stuff, not the 14k sort of interest though…

Given the velour seats, proper digital clock and Twin Cam badging on the steering wheel, even as a long time lurker I'd suggest no rules are being broken.

Bit spendy for an old Corolla, but a lovely thing imo.

That's very cool. Some of the JDM models are very cool. So many cars, not enough time, money or space!

39k on the clock, rare and in a lovely condition - price seems about right.
