Thanks

Thanks, but I have tried the usual suspects in the uk and Germany.

Hoping a PH member knows of one that might be coming up for sale.

You tried MCP ?

Yep - they have a Riviera Blue one for sale. Not the right colour for me.

black lhd car available at autofarm.......comfort spec with standard smaller spoiler...you are unlikely to find the exact car you are looking for (believe me I know) such things as spoilers can be added later if required.

50k miles a bit too high for me.

I am startng to sound very fussy!

Had a 964rs clubsport for a couple of years and loved it. More recently i sold my GT3 MKII, which I had JRZ suspension put on by Parr. Really fancy a 993 rs lightweight or clubsport as I said. Not really a fan of heavily modded cars such as the one at specialist cars.

Looking for a an A1 low mileage example that I can cherish... and track occasionally of course! Normally I would only consider a clubsport, but I am getting a little bored of track days, so will consider a lightweight...but must have the rsr spoilers on.

If it takes a year or more to find the right car then so be it.

Thanks for the pointers so far.

I am... just miss having something special in the garage! Not willing for that car to be non collectible - sick of losing money on cars that I only use occasionally!

When you say, "lightweight", do you mean an RS Comfort version?

Wasn't there only two road versions - 993 RS and 993 RS Clubsport? Where does comfort come from?

I use the term lightweight, as I used to have a 964 rs.

Now I happen to have a silver one, with big wing pack in the garage... I have it on loan whilst my friend is out of the country and my 964rs is at the menders. Lovely car on road and track. He claims he will never sell it. Sorry!

TEASE!!

Hence my question - "Where does comfort come from?"

Mark, I thought that was answered in the thread?....the use of the term comfort describes a standard non clubsport version that has many of the items found on a regular 993 C2, which were deleted on a standard RS, specified back as extras. Increasing both weight and comfort!

I wouldn't worry, it doesn't make an RS specified in such a way a bad car at all....in fact I would say with a/c the standard car is genuinely a perfect allrounder.

Another reason "comfort" may be used more in recent years is because the GT3 comes in both comfort & clubsport (vaguely!) versions......perhaps this has been adopted to the 993 versions?

Sorry - didn't explain my self.

I am fully aware of the two variants and what the differences are. I was referring to my original comment - basically I was being pedantic.

Anyway, anyother cars out there?!

Are you being pedantic...or really asking about other cars now?? Hard to tell!

you must check www.gtclassics.co.uk Hopefully Paul will find you a car.

Or contact another Paul,,, bergmeister...PCGB 993RS register secretary, he often knows when cars are available.

fairly quiet on availablity front.....I have been keenly tracking car & prices for the last few years.....when cars do come up prices can be all over the place, there are often histories and stories attatched ....a relatively small community so quite a few of the cars are known.

As mentioned earlier in the thread I have spoken to most dealers in the UK and some in Germany, including Tom Schmitz of H&S who I bought my 964 rs clubsport from. Basically there is very little around, hence the thread - hoping that PH member would know of one coming up.

I will get in contact with Paul - good call!

I will bow to your greater knowledge but the yellow car I went out in certainly had the perspex rear window, a color-coded roll bar and bucket seats, no A/C or electric windows, an exposed 90ltr fueltank, front strut brace so I made the assumption that it was full clubsport spec.

[sorry for the hijack!]

I wasn't referring to you. I was referring to Vic and Tim.

Was the roll bar a half cage or full cage?

Rob

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the heads up - but I heard from a reliable source that this car had been a serious accident and was almost written off! Obviously I cannot verify this, but I would urge anyone interested to investigate this thoroughly.

Last time I saw the GT2 was at Bedford (cough), but I believe you have sold it now? What are you driving now?

Not Black blue or silver, but it's got a few more horsepower to make up for it !
And it's got a big spoiler (albeit Techart rather than Porsche)
www.specialistcarsltd.co.uk/porsche_sales/red993RSCT3.htm

Anybody care to comment on the techart rs ct3? I know I said I wasn't into heavily modded cars... but this looks very nice!

What is the gerenal view in the rs community of the ct3? loved, loathed, indifferent?

Any views would be appreciated!
