Just a quick sanity check, has anyone made a successful warranty claim for a failed TPMS

TIA.

Wheel sensor, I think. Random amber warnings but pressure readings within the acceptable range.

Batteries will be running low in the TPMS sensors.

Not covered under warranty as they are a consumable, mine failed after 8 years but you can buy non OEM (same manufacturer though) sensors online for a fraction of what McLaren charge.

You just need to double check what frequency yours transmit at - UK cars are nearly all 433hz but some early car (like mine) were built with 315hz ones.
Thanks, had a sneaking suspicion they'd be life timed, hence not covered...

Thank you.

If they are battery powered, and it's this cell that goes down so to speak, can I infer they are sealed units, impossible to replace; resined in? Or similar; has anyone tried to tear one down?

One of mine reports 5C hotter than all the others once they're warmed up.

They start the same and then the odd one out starts to diverge in temp reading.

I checked with the dealer on the warranty apparently anything up to 7 degrees difference is still in tolerance biggrin
7 degrees... that's some margin.
