M4 - Cat D - Too risky?
Discussion
OP BEWARE: Expensive looking stock sat on a forecourt might not actually belong to the dealer. Many dealers use expensive stock as a way of appearing something they are not.Often the stock is there on S.O.R or other similar arrangements. Some dealers have people trawling the car ads looking for private sellers of high end vehicles. The call is then placed with the sell that they think your car is placed correctly price wise but as they can offer p/x / finance/theres not all that many people out there wanting cars like this without finance etc they stand a better chance than you of securing a sale. You would be amazed how many people just think yippee an easy solution and hand over the keys.
There are horror stories of people who didn't get their car back or any money (companies selling the car then shutting up shop),cars with 000's of miles more on the clock than when it was handed over etc.
So please don't be fooled into thinking that a few flash cars make a good reputable dealer, if you've got £40k theres lots of decent used cars like the one advertised out there without the baggage of being a cat c. The fact you posted the question should tell you that you had major concerns. Follow your head not your heart.
ps.There are also lots of very good dealers out there who also take some cars on a S.O.R basis.
