Is that a mental step backwards?

I really fancy getting back into a turbo charged car and an Evo 8 (or 7) currently takes my fancy. I know inside it won't be the same quality as the M5 but with some tuning should be much quicker.

But would I be mad to go to an Evo from an M5?

I didn't know there is some sort of "Recommended Progression List" in car ownership? wink

A step back in terms of luxury, a step up in terms of driving enjoyment, perhaps. Very different cars that deliver their thrills in different ways.

Me neither, but you know how it is. I do realise that an evo is not going to be as good as the M5 on a 200 miles journey though

The lack of any ride quality in the evo is likely to be your biggest day to day long term worry.

It wouldn't be a daily, I have a Volvo land yacht for that.

People keep telling me to keep the M5 because it's going up in value, but to keep a car purely for that reason seems a bit silly.

You and I both know that whatever the M5 gains in value will be massively outweighed by the running costs. hehe

Very different cars in just about every aspect, both are excellent - that's a tough call indeed.

What power output of Evo are you aiming for?

It would need to be around 500hp to be worth it.
