My first turbo was 50% of price I paid for it after two years and 36k miles, I expect my now turbo S will be the same. On 4 door high value depreciating cars its always the same unless they are limited.

There have been very well spec'd ones for 7-10k more.There's been a strange and brief period on Taycans where they were depreciation proof. It was never going to last.
The good thing is that non-tyres kickers can now get into an exceptional car for much less outlay

Well I am trying to but a Taycan ST (nearly new) and while discounts look good against rrp (as per latest price rise), most dealers aren't blinking yet and don't seem that keen to haggle down much from advertised price. The best deals are on nearly new Turbos - but still bloody expensive as most are very highly specced with stuff I don't need. There is a 30k spread between trade and retail on many Taycans based on my calls this week.

Alongside considerations towards a 911 I am still thinking about the practicality of 4 full seats and 0-60 in 3 seconds without ever going near a petrol station. Have you had any further progress?Sitting on my hands for now.

I spoke to my dealer and a couple of others in the last week - still no movement but I will be in an OPC to look at a car next Sat and as its the 30th Dec prepared to strike a deal if one compelling enough comes in.

The car could be put on lease or could be purchased outright.
How would people go about getting the best deal / what discount should I expect? Can I even get a deal if I put in a custom order? I'm sure I'd get the best deal on a new car already in stock. But I've looked at the stock that is new at Porsche across the UK but I'm not seeing anything that would really work.
I'm speaking to my local Porsche dealer end of the week. Never owned a Porsche before (nor made a custom order) so any advice much appreciated.

Porsche arent taking any custom orders (in the UK) on Taycans untill the new model is released and I dont belive there will be a deals on the new models and I assume a price increase !I'm looking to buy a Taycan CT T. Company buy. I've specced one out at around £150K with options.

So my belief is that the only cars availible until the middle of next year is the existing stock

Yep but a petrol supercar can do that for longer on a drive/circuit than a top end BEV that will need a recharge after one lap.Looks like Porsche will be tempting people with what it does best; going flipping fast!

One thing I’ve noticed is that my electric consumption doesn’t go up much when thrashing it. In my 911, I can range from 5 mpg to 35 mpg. People can take their Taycan and do some quick laps if they want, but most Porsche drivers and even 911 drivers don’t even do that. Find the best compromise current stock. Look across Turbo and Turbo S (even 4S). Look at those that have been on the lot for a while.
Car does not have to be brand new. Ex-demo works for all company tax perks.
But also don't discount used. The depreciation/ability to haggle harder may offset tax breaks.

Thanks - really appreciate this. Was that 27K off 108K list price or off 108K advertised price (with higher list)? I'm seeing a lot of cars that are e.g. 134K but configurator says list price is 170. So they're already 'reduced'. But if you could get another 27K off the 'reduced' price then it would start to look very interesting.The car is sensational btw I really love it.

You can claim ‘enhanced capital allowances’ (a type of 100% first year allowance) for the following equipment, which must be new and unused:
electric cars and cars with zero CO2 emissions"
I'll check with my accountant but if this is correct it will really open up the pool of cars I can consider.

However, on the gov site it says that for a second-hand electric car you can still claim 18% of the value of the car. So from the sound of it you still get some benefit which potentially could make used deals even more attractive.

for a new Or demo EV you would be writing off 25k year one, but be subject to paying tax on the amount if you ever sold the car. it swings in roundabouts i guess.

The full allowance gambit may not always be the cheapest way to own one... Though with residuals being hit, that may have changed.
