My Cayenne GTS shows me almost 500 miles range from a tank. While I love its optimism, I know that if I set off expecting 500 miles I would be let down. At best I get 400 miles if I sit on a motorway with no traffic. However, at the moment I am getting just over 300 miles to a tank due to only doing short journeys.
I am not sure why people think the Taycan would be any better at predicting future trips.

'tis strange but seemingly true. The range indicator is spookily accurate. I am not sure why people think the Taycan would be any better at predicting [b]future[b] trips.

It helps with this weird range-anxiety recalibration that one goes through. I'd now probably have second thoughts if it said my destination or power stop was predicted to leave me with 5 miles range or under. Anything above that feels like 50miles in a gas car. I have been doing a 175 mile trip when the range consistently predicts 185miles. Don't give it a moments thought. Arrive, plug it in, wander to grab a comfort break, paper and a takeout, wander back, few more mins, and back up to 180 miles. Because you don't need to stand there with your finger on the fuel pump trigger, it all seems pretty painless.
I still obviously love my gas cars, but this has its place, it works and will only get better. And it's definitely a proper Porsche. And another 50miles range would be nice, please! Maybe summer will add a chunk of that.
