Discounts on new Taycans?
Discussion
I’ve had an email today from an OPC following up on an enquiry I made in October last year. They’re getting desperate - offered a discount and a ‘low’ PCP deal.
Chap told me he couldn’t give me a car last year as they were only allowed to sell to customers ‘within their postcode’.
Unreal 489 available today.

How low was the pcp deal ? Chap told me he couldn’t give me a car last year as they were only allowed to sell to customers ‘within their postcode’.

‘The brand is also supporting us here at the dealership with incentives for clients placing a new Taycan order.’

Which EV cars are considered new tech ? And what’s the differences ?
Thanks

Taycan's are very inefficient. EV's should be looked at in terms of miles per kw (equivalent of mpg) not range. Thanks
Phib
Because they are so inefficient unless you have access to a high powered charger they take an awfully long time to charge....so you can only sensibly use the high end charger's when on the road which they're are even less of.

I cant imagine they are any worse than my EQC and I can charge from 0 to full overnight on a 7kw charger, albeit not within the 5 hour cheap rate on an EV tariff.Because they are so inefficient unless you have access to a high powered charger they take an awfully long time to charge....so you can only sensibly use the high end charger's when on the road which they're are even less of.
A transporter full of new Taycans on the M18 this morning.
One very nice Gulf Orange one was amongst them!
Obviously Porsche won't just decide to stop making them for a couple of weeks due to the build up of stock, but would you think theres a slow down in production? I imagine at their height, they were churning out a silly number of them a day.

As you say home charging is much less on an issue. From my experience of Taycan loan cars high powered charges are a necessity unless you have a lot of time on your hands !

I think a Tacan with the large battery is about 90 kw ? So roughly 2 miles per kw....most EV's are double that. That means you are very reliant on high speed chargers for long journey's in my mind.

I use 33.5kw per 100 miles in the summer on my Taycan GTS that's 3 miles per KW on a 600bhp car. A 992 turbo might use a touch more fuel than a Fiesta. As you say home charging is much less on an issue. While they aren’t the most efficient of EVs, they will still do more than 200 miles on a charge, even when using the full performance available.Because they are so inefficient unless you have access to a high powered charger they take an awfully long time to charge....so you can only sensibly use the high end charger's when on the road which they're are even less of.
A 10-15min charge on a fast charger will get you from 15% to 80% charge, so with appropriate planning, it really isn’t that much of an issue, unless you’re frequently doing long trips with no access to fast chargers.

Out of interest, how much does that fast charge from 15-80% cost?A 10-15min charge on a fast charger will get you from 15% to 80% charge, so with appropriate planning, it really isn’t that much of an issue, unless you’re frequently doing long trips with no access to fast chargers.

Depends where you do it. Prices are very variable. Most common charge (sic) is around 69p per kWh, so 15%-80% is about £38.
At that price point it's broadly comparable to, or a touch less than, using my old 997 C4S (which as sports cars go is pretty frugal. Though "only" 380bhp
and further behind on torque ).
There are places that are more expensive (83p is the most I've seen yet) and cheaper (39p, though have only seen that on an app. Haven't paid that yet!).

My car's averaging 2.8miles/kWh at the moment. I suspect that's pretty representative as it's done 11k miles.
