Roof rails eat range on the motorway (where it will spend most of its life) and also make whistling/screech noises at consistent high speed in wind.

My business partners Ct has no rails… mine rails and the range is identical. Makes zero difference unless actually attaching something to them. Oh and they don’t whistle, even at high motorway speeds- again unless something attached.https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en-GB/details/porsch...

Fully agree with this btw.. When I was looking for a used Macan and then a used Cayenne I was astonished about the amount of poverty spec cars that were available for sale. Put big wheels on and a panoramic roof and that's it. Ideally with the smallest possible engine.. Ppl would do anything to be seen in a Porsche doing the school run or their waitrose shopping i guess. Reality is, it's lacking basic stuff that any decent other car at this price point would have. Unfortunately from my experience most Porsche's need £10k spending on "kit" to bring the spec up to what you'd expect of an expensive car e.g. leather interior

The nicer leather or alcantara interiors with carbon or nice finished elements do feel much nicer inside IME.
Double the price also ignores pretty large leaps in drivetrain and other spec items.
And you're right, it isn't Porsche limited.
Personally think anyone buying a Taycan even at the discounted levels you can buy from an OPC at needs to expect 30 to 40% depreciation over the next couple of years. The car I drove was a £120k plus spec car and is for sale for I think just under £100k…I’d be amazed if it’s any more than a £70k car in a couple of years. Based on my experience this week its got less than a 200 mile real world range and because it is so inefficient only proper fast charging is viable (unless you have time to kill) when you’re out and about. That’s going to look really poor as newer/better spec cars get launched.

But there are plenty on the OPC site (new) that are 20% or more discounted (including the Turbo example I gave). And that's before negotiations. Sure some cars - and some dealers - are different, but the one I highlight isn't top spec. I would expect even more off a very high specced one. I am currently negotiating to buy a 116K rrp new Taycan ST (actually £122k at current pricing) for just under £90k. Not quite there but I think it's going to happen (kiss of death no doubt....)It’s all about the % dealers are allowed to offer in discount, and currently it’s a hard stop at 15% max discount off list - no negotiation. Some movement in px value but not much.
I’ve had over 30 911’s, 4 taycans and a couple of cayennes, so a reasonable customer.

This is not what I'm seeing in my neck of the woods (Midlands).If Porsche are currently supposed to be overstocked on new/used Taycans (with more cars on the books than are advertised at any one time), the level of apathy and disinterest I've experienced over the last two w/e's at two different OPC is unreal. I was expecting them both to be much more motivated. How are Porsche hoping to sell all of these Taycans with their overpriced finance and not budging on the sticker price?
The best I got offered today was a dealer group contribution of £5k to meet their annual carbon emissions target, for which they get a nice big bonus.
Where are these amazing deals for a Turbo S at £110-120k?
