When I had my LupoGTi, I drove my sisters Arosa 100hp - which is basically the same as the Lupo 100hp.
I was shocked at how different it felt. Gearbox, clutch, brakes, steering - all of it felt slacker, softer and less precise, despite having less miles. Alot of people overlook just how much of the LupoGTi was bespoke to the car - it wasn't just a bigger engine and different springs, it was mechanically quite different.
it didn't even feel like a lupo tbhI was shocked at how different it felt. Gearbox, clutch, brakes, steering - all of it felt slacker, softer and less precise, despite having less miles. Exactly mate, not a route i want to go down with this engine really. I think this engine with around 160/170bhp should be good fun.
What are they- 125 standard? Hope you’ve got deep pockets......claytonjones said:
I know several people who have got 150ish with only the mods i have now. So with the plans i have, i should see that.
Just beware of the law of diminishing returns- manifold/decat & exhaust doesn’t generally liberate a 20% gain on a N/A car- unless it’s a quote-me-happy dyno of course ;-)chrismc1977 said:

I had a couple of drives and it was an awesome thing. It was always the intention to do the head and cams etc but was sadly sold! Please stick with your plans for yours!
Also dont suppose you're around the Durham area are you?

I bought a 51 plate 5 speed GTI at just over a year old and kept it for 5 and a half years.
I think it's my favourite car out of all those I've owned (though my current shed c70 convertible runs it close). Never failed to put a smile on my face.
I do sometimes regret getting rid of it (in a bizarre twist of fate it ended up a few years later being owned by a young lad about half a mile away from me) but it was leaking water into the boot meaning the alarm would go off (I had to unplug the sensor in the boot lock) and it looked like it was developing a spot of rust in one of the rain channels on the roof.
But I will always have fond memories of it.

Thanks, i love the look now!
As far as i’m aware there was only ever 110 made in Tornado Red, so can’t be many left on the roads now.
