250 miles in and the car is absolutely fantastic. I used to think my VX220 turbo was the quickest car I'd ever own but this thing just wants to go and go even at 80

Anyway, replaced a £3.27 oil pipe seal (N91104101) that was causing a tiny oil leak which is a common problem on the Gallardo. Was a fk on to get to the bd thing but thankfully Bull Rider on YouTube made a video of how to do it which I must have watched 50 times

Was hoping to take more photos but it started raining

What a masterpiece though

You're a braver man than me, I haven't done much to mine personally other than fit the battery conditioner and retrofit cruise control.

It's gone into RE in Swindon today to have the seized rear roof release catch replaced, hopefully I'll get it back in time for a few autumn runs.

4321 GO was there as well, which is a G that I'm sure I've seen on these pages.

It was quite easy actually, and the only special tool I needed to buy was a magnetic torx wrench from Amazon for £12! Out of curiosity, how did you do your retro cruise? I really could have done with cruise today

Missed this when you got it but that’s bloody awesome! Well done to you - realised I need to get moving as I’m a couple of years older than you and my ‘Ferrari at 40’ goal has been and gone.

Massive well done to you for getting the job done - a yellow Lamborghini must be about as exciting a car as you can get for the money…..now reassure me over the next few months that they’re easy to live with! biggrin

Nahhhhhhh don't judge yourself against anyone else or any other arbitrary figure like age. I've not earned this car; I fluked it. I was just lucky in how much I made on the Clio which made the step closer than ever and too close to let pass

The Clio’s did have a seriously steep rise in value’s didn’t they! Good for you, and what better way to invest the profits! Issue for me would be what will you use it for….I’m not terribly relaxed about leaving my cars anywhere unfamiliar as it is, and they are not a bright yellow Lamborghini!

Its great to read about someone really enjoying a car like this rather than it just being an expensive fashion item smile

Is the garage getting rebranded to suit the new car?
Almost, I just need rid of the Renault wall light thingy and replace it with a Lambo wall light thingy

There was an identical one tucked away in the corner at a local car meet and it looked unbelievable parked between 2 ‘normal’ cars - getting better with age.

There's something about the rear end and the wrapover to the horizontal rear lenses that reminds me of a Lamborghini from the 70s or a concept car. I really like the look of Gallardos.

First of all, I have a model Gallardo that's served as my inspiration since I've got it - I currently have 7 years to catch up to you but it's awesome seeing someone living out their dream, and with such an awesome car. I hope you continue to enjoy it. smile

Secondly, (and sorry for the slight derailment) but my Dad has a Clio 182 with a fully kitted out Renault-fied garage, but I know that wall light would go down a treat - I notice further up the thread you said about selling it, how much do you think they're worth? Cheers!

Thanks all - I'm honestly loving life at the minute!

Regarding the Renault sign, have a look at eBay item 134652148817

Hi Jon! The Lambo is a sensation, there's no two ways about it but I will always hanker for another VXT

Agreed, i think the later design rear only works with the perf.

I rented an early gallardo when they were new and took it back early as i didnt like it but i think its looks are strangely better now then when it was new, it broke down on the 1st day which didnt help tbh.

That was easily my favourite VXs of all of the ones I had. Colour combo was perfect!

That’s absolutely stunning! These have aged so well and look so clean with no big wings or massive vents.

I followed a green one a months ago and the noise was outrageous! Like a really raw, feel it in your chest noise that racing cars make.

Fantastic!

There was an explanation on the VVS Gallardo video about the noise, they changed the exhaust system on later Gallardos, cant remember the exact details but later customers were not as impressed by the noise their gallardo made, huge part of lambo ownership, early Aventadors sound better to, apart from SVs & SVJs

Good stuff; is it as tight a squeeze as it looks? I remember the chap from Evo who ran a Murcielago and he knocked off a wing mirrors (twice) at great expense putting it in his garage.
