2007 530i Questions

Hi guys, newbie to the forum, but just purchased a lovely 2007 530i and had a few questions I was hoping you might be able to help with:
1. with new struts, will the boot fully open when unlocking with the key? I have small kids and that would be a huge benefit, but don't want to invest if not possible.
2. the large panoramic sunroof tilts but doesn't go back, is it worth trying to fix yourself, or better to let a specialist look at it? Assume it's the motor, but not sure how big a job that is.
3. I have a service light for the rear right reverse light, I changed the bulb, light remained on, then I realised if I open the boot with the engine running 3 further issues present themselves (left number plate light, right number plate light, right rear fog light) - assume this is due to dodgy wiring, but can't find where the wiring runs - any help greatly appreciated.

Sunroof - no ideas sorry. Someone will be along that has more insight with the E61s
Re the wiring; this goes through the rubber boot by the tailgate hinges; it's more than likely cracked/split and now shorting with age, so it's time to unravel it and see what's what (or get an auto-sparky to do it for you if you haven't the skills/time/patience etc)
