Hi chaps,

Laying up the 348 over the winter and abandonded the smartcar idea.

Think I'm buying a 1988 635 CSI auto on saturday. having it checked over my a BM speacialist and think its a decent price, just wondered if anyone had ever had one & what you think of them?

Its the dechromed highline model, completeley original and decribed as excellent(but he would say that!) Its metallic black with light grey leather.

went to see what was decribed as an "immaculate" car on saturday. The guy told me that the only thing that was wrong with it (he said) was that it had a tiny spot of rust on the back bumper and a tiny bit of wear on the drivers seat. Clarified this 3 times with muppet owner before taking up most of saturday going to see it.

The reality...got there, the car had rust across the whole of the back end (which had been resprayed badly), both rear lights were cracked, the headlight was smashed, the leather interior was damaged beyond repair, literally wrecked. The stereo was hanging out.
He told me that it only had had a few owners but wasn't sure how many off hand, it was actually 9 owners.

I wasnt very happy to say the least, oh and on the way home I phoned the chap who had the other one I wanted to see & he had sold it that morning...arrrggghhh
