Still not.got round to getting a new key...won't be long until I'm moaning I've lost my only one I'm sure!

New year tyre was put on today. Didn't realise how squared off my old one was until using the work bikes! Night and day difference.

£230 for it mind you! Went for another Road 6.

Passed 50,000 miles not long ago.

I'm actually thinking of swapping it. Won't be until I've moved and got a garage again. I really like the RTs. Just got to hope the newer ones are bigger than the work ones.

I've heard (if true) at 60k BMW pay for the driveshaft to be replaced, true?

I still don't understand how the GS is the best selling bike, what with dodgy reliability, high dealer labour rates, and questionable paint finishing. Yet people still stump up huge amounts of money on new ones every year.

They are just great bikes to ride though - particularly for touring and long distance. And they sell so many, you only hear the negatives - many owners have no issues whatsoever (I got to 78000 on mine before the ABS pump failed!).

The modern bikes so seem a little more fragile though - not sure I would stump up the cash for new.

It's a decent bike. Only issue I've had is with the alternator. But it's kept outside, used daily in all weather's. Never washed.

Dealer labour prices don't effect me as I don't buy new and don't need to worry about the warranty.

I've done 15,000 miles in two and a bit years with no real issues.
