Bit of an over reaction perhaps
Very possibly an over-reaction yes, as I edited above I'm a Cal fan so I want to see him carry on.
San Carlo really want an Italian rider, The Dovi/Ducati deal rumour is gathering pace.
Marquez and Smith up. I think Scott will also come up this year, and also Ianone.
Seats are looking thin.

Can't find the original 'MotoGP paddock rumours' thread, so sorry for the new one.

Just been told that Rossi has been confirmed back at Yamaha.

Good? Bad? Sponsors? Who's going to fill the Duke seat? Where will Dovi go?

Discuss... wink

Very mixed emotions with this.

- As a MotoGP fan - delighted, especially with Stoner's impending departure
in the hope that Rossi can recapture his form
- As a Rossi fan - delighted
- As seeing an Italian on an Italian bike fan - gutted it didn't happen
- As a Cal fan - fearing the worst (but sitting with crossed fingers)

p.s. Tweet by Chris Pike ‏@cpracing_chris (Honda WSBK crew chief to Jonny Rea)

"So factory Yamaha and Honda motoGP teams complete, Dovi to Ducati, Cal to Gresini and Randy de Puniet to Tech3. What'll we talk about now?;) "

If that comes off I don't think a Gresini Honda would be such a bad deal for CC.

If you're such a MotoGP fan why are you applauding the loss of a talented rider. Or are you just a Rossi fan, and not really caring about the sport as long as Rossi is on a competitive bike?

As for all the personality stuff, let's not have the debate, but I don't see how you're MotoGP fan and yet want to see the back of one of it's most talented riders in the last 5yrs . .. bizarre.

If that comes off I don't think a Gresini Honda would be such a bad deal for CC.
I think it's the moves I've considered to be the best settlement. Depuniet has deserved a shot again for a while, Hervé must be motivated to have a French rider in his French team.

Dovi can go to Ducati, I don't see much history of him developing a bike, a good pay day for him and perhaps he'll make it work for him, but I don't see in his style the same adaptability as the only person has been successful on it. I ceryainly don't see the agrression in Dovi.

Cal to Gresini is a great move, shame to leave behind the Yamaha though as I think it's the better bike in the paddock at the moment. He'll have to be beating bradl week in week out to be considered successful, along with Smith and Depuniet.

Gien the direction of the tyres from Bridgestone not favouring the factory Honda's, I wonder what kit will arrive in the gresini garage for next year. How factory is the factory satellite bike. Who will they favour, Bradl or Crutchlow . .

For Rea, it's now bad news as he'll be left behind on that dog of a Honda in WSB. Gresini I imagine would pick Cal over Rea and he's got no where else to go . . Another year of being close but no prizes, probably some more injuries from having to override it and what'll he get at the end for his efforts . . ?

Rossi transformed the M1 from a pigdog it was before he joined the team into the sweet handling thing it is today.

Without ROSSI, Jorge (and everyone else on M1s) would be riding a good for nothing pigdog

Fair cop, it's just I don't associate being a MGP fan with wanting to see talent leave the sport, as the more talent there is the healthier the sport, the more competition the greater the victories of World Champions are when the field they race against is considered to be so talented.

Next year we have 3 aliens, Ped who won't win it, Lorenzo who probably will and Rossi.

We only had 3 this year and watch the last round, even after the first lap the 3 of them had left the field behind. If that's the form for next year then it's going to be equally boring. If we had 4 aliens, perhaps the racing might be slightly more interesting, if it were 5 or 6 (Marquez, Cal smile ) then how good could that be.

As a MGP fan, thats what I want to see.

As a member of the Valentino Rossi fan club I want to see him be successful against the greatest line up of available talented riders in the world, not a reduced field, rather an enhanced field, including the recent world champions and those regarded as having the greatest talent at that period fo time.

There's no better measure than beating them as an assembled grid rather than it being the Rossi versus Lorenzo show that we'll get next year as Ped will occassionally shine and Marquez will be too busy launching himself to the moon . . .

Isn't that obvious?

If he can't perform on the best bike out there he's had it.

I'm sure he will though.
