Hmm. I'm taking a punt on him being 2013 World Champion.Maybe Rossi and Lorenzo will steal points off each other, but I just dread that Lorenzo will sail off into the distance in the early season as Rossi finds his rhythm and confidence which I think are at their all time low.
It'll be interesting to see how much pre-season testing Yamaha are able to do, as these rules have been relaxed as well and Rossi I imagine will want as much time as possible on that Yamaha since his last ride fo one 2yrs ago.
Also, will Ducati release Rossi from the contract early to allow him to ride the bike at Valencia after the end of the season . . .

But now it IS the best bike and he HAS to perform. We're talking present here not past, everyone knows what he did for Yamaha and how great he was but we haven't seen it of late.
The pressure is that it'll be all over every website and newspaper in the land that he's past it if he doesn't perform on the best bike out there... We know he did it in the past but that's what it is, the past. I hope he can do it again.
I have the faith.

I am not delighted with Stoner's departure at all and have never ever said or posted anything like that and my post didn't imply it either. If you look at the use of my apostrophe it makes it clear as those that quoted me before you understood. Let me clarify. I am delighted as a MotoGP fan that Rossi is going to hopefully be more competitive particulary given we are losing Stoner. I have said many times Stoner is a massively talented rider and someone who i love to watch wrestling bikes around the track. For me, the more 'aliens' in MotoGP the better.
Sounds like you're a bit too quick to see the negative in people's Stoner related posts. Or maybe a bit anti-Rossi? :biggrin:

... And then dragged it to the most amazing motorsport win I ever saw, Vs arch enemy Max Biaggi at Welkom, his M1 debut when it was still palpably inferior to the Honda. First rider ever to win on his debut after changing Manufacturer, first rider ever to win the Championship after changing Manufacturer. Never before in the field of Humans racing motorbikes etc etc. Utterly herioc, never to be repeated or equalled IMO.
Well I cant see Rossi finish a race higher than about 8th now which is a shame - He has no confidnece in the bike, no point in trying to develop it as he is leaving, no point pushing because he is nowhere in points and doesnt want to come off and get injured!
I guess he can just cruise around for the rest of the season and get himself in the best shape he can for next year when the pressure will certainly be on
Excited for this though as its been a shame to see him at the back!
