Been waiting all winter to make some passes with my 500 and the weather opened up for last night finally. It's only an 1/8th mile track, and my first run I put down a 9.06 @78. Ended up putting down a best time of 8.80 @ 79. I was pretty competitive with a couple ZX6Rs (losing by a tenth or a couple) and beat this guy twice who didn't know what he was doing on an 02 R1.

I think I can get down into the 8.6 range with some more practice.

Had a blast I'd encourage anyone who hasn't done it to give it a try.

That looks like fun. I did the mile on the runway standing start and although it was wet it was great fun. Of course I had a lot of wheelspin rather than wheelies so it felt much safer. I would still like to have a go at the quarter mile and until you posted I had no idea there was 1/8th mile raceways.

There's nothing like a balls-out standing start along side another bike to get your adrenalin going

On the subject of drag I was at Westonzoyland on Sat for NSA meeting there, next time I plan to get a day pass
