I have this up for sale if there any Nico Rosberg fans out there but have been getting some feedback from people that famous driver history in a vehicle isn't worth anything to the sale price. Curious to know people's thoughts.

If Senna or Schumacher had driven it, there'd be an uplift in value. Nico Rosberg, not so much. Obviously a decent driver, but never struck me as having anything resembling a fanbase.

What a great thing to own would love to have a drive on track have you driven it yet?
Must be worth more being ex Rosberg car?

Apologies about jumping on you post, but does anyone know if there's a way of locating the history of a Dallara F399 chassis, with just the chassis number?

Yeah driven it a number of times on tracks around the UK. It is not like driving any production car and I also own an Atom 3.5 and a Lambo. The power-weight ratio and grip are completely bonkers!

It isn't easy - mine came with the logbook but I think the only way to try to track down a history is to write to Dallara and see if they have any records that they would be willing to share.

I can only be jealous. Is it eligible for any historic racing?

Just a F1 world champion , who beat the GOAT to win it ...... haha decent driver , sure it increases the value , this is not some car a mid field Italian F3 series driver drove

It reads as though it's ready to run in Monoposto
https://monoposto.co.uk/

Which, IMHO, is one of the best kept secrets in UK club motorsport, though I might be a bit biased as I compete in it!

Mono sort of bridges the gap between the historic and modern single seater scene, some of the cars in it one can run in the HSCC series, but most are just a bit too young but also a bit old for the current, professional, series, mono fills that void for single seaters.
There's a class to suit most ages/types of car (up to 2L) and some excellent meetings to attend too.

Hmmm.. in reality not so sure.. did you see what he did to it while he was driving it.. Lol

I think it might add a small amount, but it'd not outweigh the specification, condition, preparation of it now compared to another one where these areas are better/worse, especially as these are a bit like triggers broom although it was 'his' car then quite how much of is actually the same car now is, probably, a different question..

You'd buy one of these on Spec and Condition and, to be fair, this one does look very nice..

Still F1 world champion which is more than we have achieved despite racing for 30 years , history , like the time sheets is black and white . Provenance in cars becomes more important as they age and enabling entry to premier events , such as Classic Monaco and Le Mans . Raced an early Dallara F3 for a few years and as you say this looks nice

Thanks interesting to hear, how does it compare to your Atom 3.5 what’s the bhp per ton of that ?

Out of interest how much are you expecting for it?

I'm not a massive fan of POA adverts (last one I enquired about was at least double what I thought it was worth) so maybe having a price on the ad would help.

How much extra would you pay for it?

Have had many cars over the years ( Ralt and dallara in F3 ) , still racing Global classic events , as well as Goodwood etc , provenance is worth 50% more , even at this level F3 .
In GT cars , Le Mans history adds about that to even double .....

I agree with that, I just think the uplift in this particular car's value due to it being ex Rosberg is negligible.

2004 championship standings:
Rosberg 4th
Hamilton 5th

This is the equal machinery he beat Lewis with, and therefore priceless! biggrin

If it ran in German F3, their archived website had chassis numbers

The car is eligible for Monoposto F3B class, running at 40mm ride height with a 25mm restrictor. It would be competitive in its class although some would prefer the F304 onwards with its sequential gearbox. Rosberg pedigree adds interest, but I'm not sure it adds £ 10k to the price based on its appearance on Collecting Cars.
