No traditional Fallout fan wanted Fallout-Minecraft-Co-op. Why on earth didn't they just hand it over to Obsidian again for a proper Fallout game. That would have been immeasurably better than their effort at Fallout 4 or this shower of donkey spunk they're ejaculating onto the public.

Honest question but, what for?

As other, I've played all the fallout games. This however is going to turn fallout into GTA V online, which is fine if that's what you want, but i'd be surprised if there are many fallout fans that want that.

I cant imagine going out to explore the land and constantly having to fight off greifers, or building a base only to have it constantly wrecked by other players. I know its co-op, but I suspect that most people will still play it solo, and that does not seem to be what the developers want you to do. so I can see there will be a large amount of content (missions ect) that will only work in a team.

But as I said, the sad thing about this means, that we are unlikely to get any new traditional ES or Fallout game in the coming years, while Bethesda go down the micro transaction route.

I suspect that being an older gamer (35+) I am no longer the target audience for the future of these games

Being the same age I find myself agreeing (I'm guessing your username comes from the PS1 game?), although they have confirmed ES6

"Servers to support this game for years to come" It doesn't look like it has as much as 6 months of interest. Spend hours building a base with your "friends" then it's destroyed by a nuclear missile fired by another group. I can see that getting stale very quickly. Rage quit.

Not for me (also disappointed by traditionally solo player franchises moving to online).

After the piss poor effort that was Fallout 4, I'm not surprised that they decided to give the Fallout formula a shakeup. The Fallout name still has a loyal following despite that turd of a game.

I'll give this one a go. The base building in Fallout 4 was completely st so I hope this one has more to it than that. I'm sure it will.

I really enjoyed Fallout 4. Put a lot of time into it. Still playing the DLC in fact.

Never played the older Fallout's, just 4. Loved it and if there's an online version coming then great, fairly sure the developers know what they are doing.

I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt for the moment. When I first heard it was going to be an online survival game I wasn't hopeful but it seems to have a bit of depth to it. If you can get a group of players together then it could be fun.

I'm also giving them the benefit of the doubt with regards to single player. They've been pretty vocal about supporting single player games and I can't see them sliding multiplayer into ES6 when ESO seems to still be doing pretty well.

all the gameplay bits together - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxCL6bPTIDA

Basically if you don't play it from release and put hundreds of hours in you will never be a match for the kids who can spend all their time on it, levelling up, building better weapons and armour, building their bases in the best locations and finding all the blueprints to get access to a nuclear bunker and fire missiles at others.

RNG monsters attacking camps from inside the perimeter defences again just like FO4?

Fallout GTA is a great idea, will be buying, hopefully they'll follow it up with fallout 5 for the purists. Having gone down the online route doesn't mean an end to single player, does it?

Sooo ... This isn't a standard Fallout game with NPCs, dialogue and places to discover, but a GTA Online style game? Apparently it's four times bigger than Fallout 4. Does that mean empty land to conquer and build upon? The second half of the trailer seemed to provide hope that this was a full game?! frown

I don't think so, people were getting all doom and gloom about a new Elder Scrolls because they've been doing quite a lot with ESO but there's a new one coming. I think it's likely that we'll see multplayer spin offs from the IPs but I don't think Bethesda would sack off single player altogether.

Going to guess that Loyly played on a console.

FO:4 was the first FO game that I needed mods to play. I had several play throughs of FO:3 and FO:NV before even thinking about mods.

I hated FO:4 when it first came out, but now I think the construction and crafting system is fantastic... but you need mods to make them work properly. Every Bethesda game I've played has required access to the console (if for nothing else, to fix script errors), I couldn't play them on anything but a PC.

Cool to see I’m not alone with the thoughts about all the base building jazz.

I want a fallout where you feel totally alone and isolated, and it’s all geared around wondering the wasteland. I got a bit fed up with having to babysit the towns in f4.

Hopefully I’m wrong, I really love f3 and nv, want more of that.

Never played F3 or NV but completely agree about the whole isolation thing. I just want to mooch about exlporing doing my own thing and not being forced into doing anything else!

Well I think I'll give this one a miss having seen the gameplay footage. That style of game is not for me. On a console I find having to shoot properly a bit of a chore, and quite difficult. It's hard enough in games like BF4. I've played all the fallouts and the big draw really is wandering about, discovering stuff, investigation etc on your Todd wit the dog. Not running about shooting each other. VATS makes the game more enjoyable. Didn't see it being used here.

Also don't have the time these days. With fallout I can come back to it weeks, maybe months, later and just carry on. With this I'll come back and everyone will be super levelled up.

Never really bothered with online either. Not since you had to start paying for PS online. I don't use it enough to justify the cost and I don't particularly like getting spammed by kids who've had all the time in the world to hone their skills.
