Im due to raise the ride height a bit on my new 911, and need a recommendation of a good place to do a full geometry afterwards. Ideally within 30 miles of Southampton/Portsmouth.

Thanks in advance!

There is a guy in Southampton who specialises in 4 wheel alignment who only makes a one off charge irrelevant to how many alterations made, my son used him, I'll get his details and post.

Supertracker just behind Picadors in Sholing, they manufacture the systems and have a bay there for tracking, tyre fitting etc.

Brilliant results at an excellent price (make sure you have cash for a better deal).

Quite a few of us have used them in the past.

I went there the other day with Jamie and they have moved. They outgrew the site so are now in town in the industrial est opposite the etap hotel on West Quay Road.

Yep go to Supertracker this is the new site http://www.wheelalignmentcentre.co.uk. Apparently they out grew the original place in Sholing so decided to set up a dedicated wheel alignment garage, same guy and everything. I went on Friday and wow what a difference, highly recommend.

Took mine into Pro Tyre in Fareham this morning as I couldnt be bothered to drive over to Southampton. They said the tracking was out across the whole car as it had not been done for ages. They didnt actually do the work though as they were scared of breaking a bolt as it was pretty seized up. I would have thought that rusty bolts goes with the territory what with it being the underside of a car?!

Anyway, taking it into BMW on Thursday to get it sorted as it is still under warranty and they will pay for anything they break in the process. My hopes for a quick trip out to get the tracking done didnt quite work out that way. Willing to pay the extra to know it is done right though.

I had my car looked at by Nick today at http://www.wheelalignmentcentre.co.uk./

I haven't had this car done but had my previous done several times by him.

The handling of the car seemed to recently have just 'gone off' a touch.

20mins later and the car was back to what it should be.

If you have never had your alignment done, or think you know a thing or two about driving then geometry is a must.

Im going to make this a yearly thing.

I'll second that, I had my V70 R AWD 4 wheel aligned a couple of months ago at Denmead Tyres, and transformed the handling characteristics completely to the point I have no under steer compared to before, likewise, this will be an annual check.

I've got both our cars booked in for Saturday, the Abarth is wearing it's tyres uneven and the VXR8's steering wheel is set at 10 to 12 after a recent visit to the dealer for a suspension component replacement!

Interesting, I've used supertracker before and went to the factory in Woolston rather than behind picador.

Hi, you can no longer go to the Supertracker factory to get wheels aligned they have setup a dedicated garage as above http://www.wheelalignmentcentre.co.uk to do just tracking. The guy that runs it worked at the Super Tracker factory for 25 years and now runs this setup for them.

Just got back from Nick, as usual he did an excellent job, not only was my steering wheel way off centre following a drop arm replacement a few weeks ago but both front and rear track was way out!!

The Abarth faired better, just the near side front tow was out causing a little extra tyre wear on the inside edge.

The VXR8 now drives like a different car!

Nice filter coffee too!

Looking at the pictures of various cars Nick has done on his wall, he's certainly trusted with some very nice cars!

I've not heard of them, I'll bear them in mind. I see they're a TVR specialist too smile

We've taken a TVR there and were very pleased with both the service and the price.
Will use them again for each of the TVR body-off chassis works we do.

However don't be surprised if he can't shift the rear toe adjuster as they rust up badly. We normally have to cut them out and replace them after running a tap through the thread in the wishbone.
