Sadly, my favourite museum of all, The Mullin has closed with the death of its founder.
I spent a magical day in that closed museum years ago . It specialized in Art Deco French cars and the building as design to be Art Deco too. Imagine being in an empty museum with these:
If you haven't been already Cité de l'Automobile in Mulhouse is well worth a visit for this sort of thingI spent a magical day in that closed museum years ago . It specialized in Art Deco French cars and the building as design to be Art Deco too. Imagine being in an empty museum with these:
The town of Schramberg in the Black Forest has 3 museums which get little publicity.
Auto & Uhrenwelt, ( Car and Watch, museum ) in a former clock / watch factory. Loads of weird & wonderful vehicles.
Autosammlung Steim, ( Steim Car Collection ), which has around 150 cars.
Diesel Museum, this is a single item museum. Supposedly the oldest Diesel engine in the world that is still in its original location. Around 1910 the MAN Diesel with a generator was installed to power the nearby HAU watch factory.
I spent the whole day in these three with a lunch break in the town restaurant.
We also visited the Unimog Museum in Gaggenau and had a ride on their off road course too.
You can visit Mercedes-Benz Classic Centre in Stuttgart aswell as the main museum .
Porsche museum needs no introduction, that's good.
