Richard Williams' biography of Enzo Ferrari and 'The Last Road Race' about the 1957 Pescara GP are brilliant. He really knows his stuff and is passionate about motorsport and its history and traditions, and writes well too...

Chasing the Title by Nigel Roebuck. Comapre and contrast the current state of F1 with that of the past...

"A bit behind the times" by Kenneth Neve. A great insight into special building pre and post war, and a fantastic story about driving the monster FIAT Mephistopheles on the road.

Willie Greens C&SC book about driving racing cars of all ages also floats my boat.

For evocative imagery, I do like "Sports Car Racing In Camera 1970 - 1979" but the narrative is limited.

I also enjoyed "The Last Road Race" by Richard Williams. Flowery and journalistic, but a good "holiday balcony" read.
