Sorry CubanPete picked it up this morning. Good luck with it Chris, great to meet you and hope you get it built soon!
Great to meet you too James.

My daughter was very excited with her new boat scratchchin when I got home... Though she has now clocked what it is and is rather excited.

I have various threads on here and other forums bookmarked and am just processing some of the options as now is the time to make some of the decisions on things like the drive.

I've now worked out what most of the bits are, which bits I need to make, and there is a bit of repair work from its time in storage.

As with any project, the first round of stuff has been bought on ebay...

Great stuff. Are you creating a new build thread CubanPete?

Hi Hard-Drive,

I was mainly going to tack things on here.... Your build thread has been a great source of inspiration and information so far.

Current updates...

I have repaired a few damaged corners and remade the screen panel and side panel tops which hadn't faired well in storage. These are in softwood, mainly because I already had it... although it isn't my preferred material for this, it is years old and lovely and straight so there shouldn't be any movement.

The table saw is one of the items I have in the tools you wish you'd bought sooner thread. Angled screen panel took about 5 minutes.

There has also been a lot of pondering, planning and Internet shopping..

I have a few more small jobs lined up, but largely waiting on the posty.

Reasonably pleased with my progress so far, hopefully will be able to maintain it with family life...

Looks great! A router is a good investment too...don't forget your front panel radiator/headlight holes before you get too much further, and the panel lines too.

Panel lines and headlights apertures are next on the list. I am going to do a trial on some scrap to see if I can do the panel lines with the multitool or if it tears, as it is a lot less hassle than the router (I am trying to do the man maths to justify a dewalt xr router / trimmer, but struggling at £300!), and I am waiting on an ebay parcel for the headlights to work out the hole sizes.

I have a lot of bits with an estimated delivery date of Friday to Monday... So not sure what the weekend will bring!

Panel lines are in. Have cut a few bits, made some fake hinges and lots of small repair work, so not much to actually show for my time even though a bit of progress has been made.

Plenty of parcels are arriving through the door, bike fog lights, paints, Al channel and. Polycarbonate for the windscreen.

A trip to Toylander isn't too far away to buy a bonnet and grill.

And I think I have worked out what I want to do for the motor drive. The £50 8mph scooters don't seem to exist around here!

A long weekend at my parents in Cornwall has meant no progress (though weekend progress isn't that easy, any free time basically relies on me booking time of work...) though a combination of my Dad's garage (3), and a chat to his mate at the boatyard (2) has resulted in 5 off 8" trailer wheels.

An ebay deal weekend has meant that the four off trailer hubs have cost £54. Not exactly sure how I will fit the hubs to the real axle / kingpins, but am a bit away from that anyway.
