Just bought my first Renaultsport car - Megane 250 which I pick up in a week or so.
I fancy doing one of the Renault track days - have done them on bikes before but never done a car track day. Has anyone been on one and what are they like? Probably looking at the Brands Hatch day in October as I know that track from the biking days.

I've done a few Renault trackdays. They're the most civilised introduction to track driving you can imagine. Did my first one at Bedford Autodrome back in 2003, and subsequently did many other UK circuits, and a couple of trips to Spa and the Nurburgring.
Highly recommended, but beware - it's very addictive!

I'll 100% agree. Very well organised and good value. Brands looks a little busy for my liking on a open pit lane format but I've done spa twice and loved it. Looking to go again next year with renaultsport.

How are these organised?
I'd love to do one but I'm a complete newbie... should I be looking at any 'training' before going? I drive a Clio 182 btw.

They usually run them as open pitlane, i.e. you come and go as you please. There's always tuition available, and in my experience the instructors are really good. If you book a session with an instructor early on your first trackday you'll be fine.

Thanks for all the feedback. I expect that I will go for the Brands session as that is closer to home and also a track I know.

Never had chance to do a Renaultsport one, but know loads that have done them. Very well organised, tuition, friendly faces for passenger rides, a chance to drive one of RUK's cars. First one booked for me in August at Oulton Park

Go for it. I am going to book at the end of the month when I have been paid. Will be a good experience lapping Brands in a car rather than on a bike!

Go for it. You'll love the 250 on track. Do yourself and favour and take out the parcel shelf so you get a bit more exhaust roar in the car

Always try and do the RUK trackdays each year, even travelled to spa this year - very enjoyable.
No stupid big egos, well priced, friendly and lots of knowledgeable people for some good advice whether it be about car set-up or track technique - superb really.
Plus you get to drive some of their kit - HARD!!
