Hang on... did i miss something? How come the athletes are coming in already?!

I've already forgotten what happened before the athletes started coming out. Shame.

Parade of Nations is the 3rd section out of 11 on the programme.

A bit harsh that. It is channel 4 so one should expect adverts. The commentators are good.

Thought it was ok but let down by rubbish commentary, whoever thought Krishnan Guru-Murphy would be any good at it should be shot, the man is only capable of reading autocue.

Anyhow I've got tickets for athletics next Thursday to watch the t44 100m mens final so I am happy smile

Tried watching some of the sports today on channel 4 but have given up. They seem to be ignoring the sport and concentrating on "studio time" and adverts.

BBC had 3/4 channels of sport, C4 have 2min of sport for every 10min of studio time/set of adverts.

Are the three dedicated channels (550-552 HD /553-555 SD on Virgin, elsewhere on Sky/Freeview) any good?

Well 4Seven is showing the opening ceremony again, so that channel is useless.
Channel 4 is showing another video intro/back to the studio.
4HD is the same as channel4.
C4pg extra has some cycling!!

Shows how well the other channels were advertised though.rolleyes

They have a couple of streams online as well. Not sure if they are doing the "cover everything" that the BBC was online. But currently have bikes online.

Well done Sarah Storey.
Britain's first of many gold medals.
Well done.
She just missed getting into the able bodied Olympics.

Watching the swimming, those with no arms in the backstoke bite a towel at the start, it really is quite humbling viewing, massive respect to them bow

By chance, I switched on right at that point and it really grabbed my attention - but I was really hooked when I saw how fast they could swim.

The studio team has been pretty good too - the swimming expert is very informative.

Obviously great that disabled people are having a go etc etc

But if we are honest, why should someone who was born without a hand qualify for a disabled cycling event? Not really surprised she won gold by quite some distance. Her 'disability' has virtually zero effect on her event.

Be honest in your reply.

I watched that tonight (on C4), it was brilliant, proper balls out action. To be honest you forgot the wheelchairs and just watched the action. Crowd really got into it, great entertainment.
