The BBC are quoting from an interview in The Times....he comes across as being very magnanimous in that article. He himself says he may not get picked for le Tour next year.
Correct. Wiggins knows he's not the lead rider at SKY anymore. Froome is a better climber and younger than him.

He'd rather try for olympic gold again than be a journeyman rider with SKY so rides one more season and concentrates on the Olympics for one last chance at a medal. If he makes the track squad that is.

Now Cav wants a shot at Rio 2016 too!! http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/cavendish-returnin...

I guess Wiggo would be strong enough to go for the Omnium and that would suit him, I suppose he could drop into the Team Pursuit easily enough too but Cav?!?.... and not forgetting there is a strong group of under 23s emerging from BC's talent programme... So who drops out and who comes in?!??!

Event London 2012 Result
Team Sprint Kenny, Hindes, Hoy Gold
Team Pursuit Clancy, Burke, Kennaugh, Thomas Gold
Omnium Clancy Bronze
Keirin Hoy Gold
Sprint Kenny Gold

Cavendish and Wiggins will both be aiming for slots in the team pursuit, good luck to them (they'll need it) competition must already be huge to get in that squad.

Cav has won everything he can win, with the exception of that Olympic Gold, which I think really bothers him.

Could he be a good cog in the team pursuit machine? I agree it isn't easy to see where he would fit in on the track.

You have to say, he could do either (note not both!) Him vs Wiggins vs Martin for the TT would be grandstand stuff though.

Speaking of BW, Sky have name their team to do Tour of Britain.

Bradley Wiggins
Ian Stannard
Josh Edmondson
Matthew Hayman
Bernie Eisel
David Lopez

Reasonably strong line up.

Cavendish to team up with Alejet for the first time.

Also Qintana to appear with Dowsett for Movistar.

Strong field this year.

I'm hoping to get down to Sidmouth for Stage 6, we're in Weymouth for a few days that week so it's small jaunt over there.

WTT Today

Wiggins, Cancellara and Martin last off - in that order.

Who will win? Bet now!

All three are on good form, and it may come down to who wants it the most. I am going to indulge what my heart says and go with Wiggins. (Head cannot choose)

We have to have spoilers in this thread.

Anyway: awesome performance by the winner. And you know what I love best? I'd bet my arse he's clean.
