WIll admit it's not really my thing - but that is a lovely looking bit of kit.

Is it standard length or something similar to what Bryson was using at the Masters?
This is just the standard length one (34")

We're finally back on grass tees & the course is looking really nice.
First board comp of the season, i managed to win 2x last year along with the OOM.
I'm not so confident this year, i posted some very good scores last year & got fortunate. Started last year off 16, managed to get to 11.5 by the close of the season.
Most medals are won with at least a nett -3 or -4 under, stablefords generally are won by anything from 42 points upwards!

Wow - I came T2 in our monthly last weekend with a 38 points, 40 won!. A medal is normally taken by something around handicap!

As somebody meant to be playing to single figures I'd hate a course where such high points/low net wins - it'd be impossible to be competitive

Lowest division 1 winning Monthly Medal net score in 2023 was -7 (65 net). Happened twice, rest of the scores across the full year was around -2 (70)

Haven't watched this but have seen some of his other videos and Bullard seems to come over as a bit strange himself.

Broke my six iron on the first tee today, snapped clean off the hosel as it made contact with the ground, in front of a society of about 30 all waiting.

Wasn’t a particularly heavy shot or anything, felt like good contact then suddenly went all light… oh well, much easier to justify the iron fitting I’ve booked for myself now hehe
Hope you have insurance. Those heads can go any where when they come off! Makes you think…
7 iron went today too. Clean at the hosel. I have a bit of a gap now…

Funnily enough I've just been looking at irons - not as I need a new set just looking at shiny, but if you can get fit into a set of P770s there's these:

Or if you're feeling a bit more spendy and want to maximise the pressure on you to hit them acceptably:

This is a very strange problem, I'm sure someone else on here (years ago) had the same. You must be hoofing the club into the ground at some speed, or have cheap clubs?

I think it might be a manufacturing defect, I seem to actually recall both the 6 and 7 were fixed under warranty. I have been hitting off mats a lot since the course has been closed but on GC Quad I’m fairly shallow, about 1 down on AoA, been trying to increase that actually.

I’ve seen those brushed copper clubs Bodhi, they look lovely just wonder how well the finish will last? I quite fancy the new Ping i530s but in retro spec lofts. It’s a bit of a pain as fitting isn’t until end of next month, I’m also thinking about going graphite to reduce vibrations and help with my carpal tunnel.

Friend of mine, an extremely good golfer, bought a set of Taylor Made clubs just before Covid and so they initially didn’t get much use. I played with him a couple of weeks ago when one of his irons shaft’s broke ( the ball still ended up close to the green ! ). He told me that it was the third time a shaft from that set had broken, and he’d never abused any club, and he’d never had a shaft on any set break before

I don’t remember what make the shafts on the T.M. Clubs were.

Do you know what, these irons have different shafts in them to the stock shaft due to Covid supply issues!

Are they KBS by any chance? They were notorious around the time of COVID for either bending at the bottom or snapping off.

Had my first round today at Foxhills on the Bernard Hunt course

Was in lovely condition and I really enjoyed it smile

Was very very busy there mind you

Managed to scrape in an 80 which I pleased with as I sadly had 3 double bogies

Going to get back for the other course this summer I hope

If we're talking money no object I'd be going to see these guys - a set would be cheaper than those Mizunos but you'd have to budget for a flight to Fort Worth for the full experience.

The Mike guy they keep mentioning on the website is Mike Taylor who built most of the Nike tour stuff, and still works with Tiger on his irons and wedges. The blades are lovely but so are the cavities, and by all accounts are plenty forgiving.

Just need to talk the wife into a few days in Texas....hehe

What’s the golfers equivalent of a cabinet queen shotgun? You know, too nice to be shot, too nice to be hit? As nice as those Mizunos are, you wouldn’t dare hit them.
