Hedgeman counting other forum members posts is a a bit creepy.
However i do agree that enough has been said regarding the awful M2 exterior design.
The interior looks great and reading road tests and PH owners feedback suggests the M2 is very capable on UK roads which is not surprising given the cars wide track.

Not so sold on the 'sitting in a simulator' feel of that massive screen, to be fair. The arms race between manufacturers to see how many pointless tasks you can ask the car to do on a screen seems a bit silly.God forbid people concentrate on driving and all that jazz.
It's not about ease of use of iDrive (I had the previous M3 and it was possibly the best system of the time).
The problem is that you buy a car to drive, and the experience inside is physically dominated by a giant screen with all sorts of things you don't need to enjoy driving. Worse, they're less functional in some cases than having a simple button. I appreciate that the mechanical aspect of cars is less saleable than it was and the consumer electronics element has come to the fore. Doesn't mean I have to like it!

My first exposure to something iDrive was in my 2018 MINI JCW. I had read all the negative comments about iDrive from the BMW fans and was prepared to be disappointed. And yet my other car at the time I owned the JCW was a 2018 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack with a honking big old touch screen.
Finally shed my Dodge Challengers (I bought 2 more after the 2018...) but I also owned 2 more MINIs. Then I got a 2022 230i, then traded in the 230i for a 2023 M2, and just last December got a 2024 230xi. This car I use in bad weather or as an errand car.
I am a fan of the iDrive and the big screen/display. It has the area to show lots of map info or data.
It is glass rather than plastic so scratches or the effects of corrosive skin oil is not a concern. Still old habits die hard and I use a soft clean natural bristle paint brush to brush away the dust that can collect on the screen and other dash surfaces. So far with my M2 I have not had to clean the screen with anything.

My Zandvoort Blue 2023 M2 has garnered more favorable comments than any other car I have owned. More favorable comments and so far not one negative comment. People love the car.Wheels look completely lost and the add on bits just make the car even less appealing.
The interior is very good but why would you buy such an awful design, looked to see how many cars are available second hand and there’s a lot don’t think dealers are going to shift these at £60k plus .

I agree,but the colour itself attracts attention,my grandchildren love the colour.. I've opted for the M performance boot spoiler, but nothing else on offer from BMW will be going on the car.
I've found a subtle (cheap as being so low its a consumable) gloss black splitter (not Maxton). which finishes off the front nicely.
Don't wan to lower as its a daily, but a set of spacers has completely changed the look.
Run in service now done, so the fun starts..

Added (2): I see I left off transmission detail. The car has a 6-speed manual. Absolutely wonderful. Big fan of manuals and this car's clutch/transmission after a bit of getting used to -- been driving mostly automatics since I sold my Porsche cars back in Dec. 2017 -- is the best.
