As a previous owner of three different VX es and with 3 years of Z4MC ownership behind me:

{All comments relate to Coupe only - Roadster is a girls car}

1. Good things with a switch:

The car works like it should. You don't have to worry about UV rays wrecking the radiator overflow thingy or the roof leaking.

You can arrive at work without looking like you have cycled in.

No more Vauxhall dealerships.

Reliability.

High speed stability.

Drifting.

2. Down sides:

Lack of steering feel.

20 MPG.

Spending as much on tyres as fuel.

£400+ road tax.

Running costs.

Great car - go in with your eyes open.

Sound advice. Except for the comment about roadsters being a girl's car. I would counter that a coupe is a pure vanity purchase given the roadster does everything the coupe does but you can take the roof down and enjoy the full aural experience of the s54.

It's about as macho a convertible as you can buy and you won't give a toss about the lack of a bubble roof when you've got the top down and an empty road...

Well OK for you ladyboys who rarely get the chance to stretch the Z4M beyond a track day here and there...

Roof down is best.....

a) midnight drive at 120+ for 50+ miles

b) cursing and hard driving in congestion free and otherworldly scenery in western isles.....

Just two of the things done in last two months

Bubble roof and body stiffness that 99.5% can't noticed... You are duping yourselves.

One has to ask oneself why you are enjoying said blatt at midnight so much?? Is it because no-one can see you? That's why the coupe is so popular. No one can see you smile...... wink

If you have never experienced middle of the night driving with the roof down, heated seats on and music loud on deserted roads you wouldn't understand - it's very hard to describe.

But damn good wink
