So I have been pondering and scouring the internet off the back of the very useful advice I received here.
I have revised my budget down, on the basis that the first watch I buy needs to be a beater, where ultimately if I trade it with a bus driver for a ride home in a drunken stupor I wont be too devastated the morning after.
With that in mind, i have managed to narrow it down to two watches.
1. Orient FM01002B
http://www.orient-watch.com/products/category/item...
2. Citizen NP1000-55E

Don't have a link for this one, looks like I will have to go to ebay.
Deciding between the two is tricky. I think the Orient is a millimetre or two bigger which is good, although I read conflicting measurements for the citizen so it is hard to say.
I have found wrist shots of the Citizen which size wise look great, I cant find a wrist shot of the Orient though unfortunately.
Price difference is not significant or something i am considering.
I like that the citizen has the open heart. I also like that I wont have to explain to people what the citizen is, whereas I will forever be explaining the origins of the orient as it were.
With either it looks like I will have to buy from overseas and maybe pay import tax which i am ok with.
Question is, which way to jump?
N.B. I strongly suspect that as my first watch it will likely be a 'gateway' watch and i might end up owning both within the year...!
Cheers,
