I have the following:- Frogman (225) Dawn Black (Jap market with carbon casket) 6900MS-1 "Men in rusty Black" Mudman Solar, 6 band atomic Mudman (modded with neg display and re-coloured case/wording) Riseman atomic Gulfman Atomic "Men in Ice White" 5600 solar, Grey Camo 810 Soar atomic Edited to add pictures... Group shot... My customised Mudman, negative display, re-dyed case and re-painted wording... "Men in Ice White" Gulfman... My Frog wearing it's custom blue bezel and strap... And this is what my mudman looked like after 3 days in the bottom of a freezer... I also have an 8th on the way from Hong Kong right now in the form of a classic Frogman "Men In Black I" (very chuffed as been after an early Frog for a while and this one is mint in it's original box) In answer to the post of are they any good... yes. They are as good as casio claim them to be. Do what you want to them they will keep going. And if you scratch or damage the case, just call casio and buy a new one as they are not expensive. I once put one of my mudmans in a bowl of water and then put said bowl in the freezer for several days just to prove how resiliant they are. Only difference to the watch (after I defrosted it by chucking the ice block in a bowl of boiling water) was that it came out cleaner than before. If someone asks me "how strong are they really" I will sometimes just take the watch off and throw it at the nearest wall. Usually answers their question as stuff like that doesn't bother the watch. In answer to another question, a good place to get any G is www.tiktox.com . I bought my 6900MS there and the service is second to none, if Keith hasn't got it in stock he can usually get it and his prices are pretty fair. ps. Quite a few G-shocks are NASA certified, so thats also a good indication of resliance.

Excellent - just ordered one of these from Tiktox (good link that). Perfect for my camping and mountain stuff in the badlands of the UAE Steal of a price as well! Is this watch technically a G-Shock? Regardless, it's exactly what I was after. Edit: oops - wrong pic.

Someone asked me, "Why does your watch look like that?" I replied, "So I can do this!" and smacked it against the table.

How accurate are the sensors on these things? Some of them sound quite cool - digital compass, altitude, etc. I've got a Swatch snowpass with an altitude sensor that I use for skiing but the altitude sensor is pretty inaccurate, really. Just a fun gimmick to watch the hands swing round. But a proper one would be neat... even better, one with a Snowpass transponder inside would be ideal, but I think only Swatch make those

I was going to ask the same thing Cyberface. The riseman could be really useful to me if the barometer is anything approaching accurate.

I have one of these: I bought it because I like the fact that it's solar powered and atomic.

While not strictly a G-Shock, I'm close to ordering one of these off eBay. Anybody know if it'll do the job of a cheap G-Shock. I'm not planning on jumping off cliffs but I'm after a cheap weekend knockabout.

Think I need a G-Shock too.
I think I'd like one with an analogue display, solar power and Wave Ceptor receiver. Does this combination exist ?

Saying it's "not strictly a G-shock" is incorrect... the correct wording is "It's not a G-Shock" Will it do the job of a G-shock? Well it will tell the time, but other than that it's just a watch made by the same company, and that company don't class it as a "G-Shock" themselves so that alone should answer your question. Simple answer... no it won't. You would break that far easier than you could even mark a G-shock. Here's a thing for you... if your wearing a G-Shock and you hit your arm hard enough to actually break the watch don't worry about it... your wrist will probably be broken too so the watch is the least of your worries (sounds extreme but they really are THAT tough and shock resitant).
