I've been somewhere between distraught and sobbing and down in the dumps since the death of my beloved mother two weeks ago, for whom I had been caring for the last three years. Today I went to the supermarket for the first time since she passed, wondering what on earth I should buy as I've barely been eating.

Anyway to get to the point. When I got back to my car, who should I find parked up behind me? None other than Jerry. By the time I'd loaded the car and returned my trolley, Kerry saunters back to his Jetmobile, and despite him being on the phone I tapped him on the shoulder and congratulated him on the success of his YouTube channel. As a lapsed PPL, aviation runs through my veins and I've been watching his channel since before he became well known.

He thanked me and asked if I wanted a sticker - "I'd love one!", I said. And then I realised I was actually smiling for the first time since mum died. Thank you very much Jerry! Note to self. Don't take selfies. You're way too old and it makes your schnozz look huge!

Lovely story LunarOne.

Jerry really is a great bloke and despite what people say about his knowledge, he brings a lot of joy to people with his Channel and long may it continue.

Jerry's like the Murray Walker of plane spotting commentary. He might get it wrong at times but his enthusiasm for the subject being discussed it what makes it entertaining.

Really sorry to hear about your mum and thanks for posting that tale, it's quite heartening to hear something nice these days especially one that cheered someone up a bit.

LP you got it in one. Rather than him go batst at some landings that a BBC 'expert' type who knows SFA
The enjoyment and pleasure ooze out of him

Lunar think of all the good times, the pain will subside, but the memories will remain ,and will make you smile at the most odd moments.
Have an internet cuddle from me ( if that is still allowed by the pc brigade)

Hit the nail on the head.
LunarOne, good to see Jerry cheered you up a bit, stay positive and try to find more things to keep your spirits up.

Virgin Atlantic invited Jerry to have a go at piloting a plane on their simulator. Captain Zane Dunning was on hand to explain what all the buttons do.
(It's a long video)

That was amazing, particularly the turbulence just after takeoff.

Oh, no! You're not getting me to spend a day glued to Youtube watching jets landing. (Not again.)

The United at timestamp 13:45 is good one ! I think Jerry also has a better camera these days. At the moment he's driving round to the other runway as they've switched sides.

Found myself watching Big Jet TV at Heathrow today. It’s memorising watching pilots manage tricky gusting winds, with the occasional go around.
