Ryan STM-S2, one of 34 which survived the Japanese attacks on the Dutch AF in what is now Indonesia.
They were shipped to AUS and were as Eric says used as trainers. Some are still flying!
Ryan also built the 'Spirit of St. Louis'
The Norwegians had some as well in the same area, but fitted with floats. They were shipped to AUS and were as Eric says used as trainers. Some are still flying!

Yesterday on Glas Maol above the Glenshee Ski centre. Pilot was unhurt and able to walk down the mountain aided by the climbers that were on the summit at time of the crash. Full story and more pics here

Seriously though I'm glad he was OK, he could have been stranded up there if you hadnt been at the right place at the right time.
He owes you a debt of gratitude.
Edited to add after reading the climbers account I do wonder if the climbers had not been there whether the microlight pilots would have bothered swooping the summit in the first place
