It was rammed. 3 beer tents for 80,000 people wasn't nearly enough (hour to queue for a pint no wonder they had smash & grabs and police surrounding them. Flying piss everywhere. Ian Brown can't sing. Most people having to walk miles back into town (roads closed not enough transport)
But besides that, they were amazing. Reni on drums & John Squire on guitar are in a different league. Phenomenol

I thought let's have a beer. Then I thought let's not bother. As for the piss, I foresaw that & took wipes & a fresh t shirt. You have to look out for Roses - there's always a few pricks in there.

I regard myself as privileged to have witnessed Reni playing drums.

Saw them back in Sheffield on the second coming tour and musically they are excellent. Ian Brown vocally is just shocking but as said it's all about emotions and I'm glad I gave this a miss despite a ticket offer from a friend. I can imagine the types that go to this type of gig now and it's the beer boys looking for a ruck. Flying Piss is the norm too.

Sat on the hotel bar after tonights gig, musically spot on, Reni, Mani, and Squire are stunning and somehow Browns vocals just sound right......and with 75000 people singing along it just doesn't matter!

Just back myself after driving over from Wakefield.
Awesome gig.
Was a little like a Liam Galagher hair convention.

I went on Saturday. Didn't bother joining the mile long queue for beer. There were far too many food stalls and nowhere near enough beer stalls. Some blokes were swigging back dozens of tiny bottles of Rose wine as that was all they could get. I think there were too many people in there for the size of the venue. It's been a long time since I've seen that many pissed and drugged up people in one place. Most of them were in their late 30s and 40s and didn't give a s t when they pushed or fell into us to get further into the crowd. A fight broke out right next to us between two pissed up blokes. It was broken up within a minute or so by people in the crowd. No sign of any stewards anywhere in the crowd. I lost count of the number of bottles thrown into the crowd. Some empty, some not. One bloke next to me had a huge lump on his head from being hit. Anyone who does that should be chucked out. In general though, everyone was really friendly and good natured. The thins above were minor annoyances. Just when the Roses came on, it started raining. Not heavy though and no-one really noticed. The band were fantastic and the sound of the crowd signing along was amazing. One thing I was very impressed by were the amount and size of the screens, the lighting and the special effects. I would never have expected fireworks at a Stone Roses. They obviously intended to put on a memorable show and they did. We walked the 5 miles back to out hotel. I've still got 'I am the Resurrection' going round my head.

I saw Plan B last week and was surprised at just how good he was. Would have liked to have seen the Stone Roses 20 years ago, now days I can't be bothered to stand in a muddy field having piss thrown at me by a punch of kids who weren't even born 20 years ago
