That's what he did on the horse racing 'trick'.

Yep, and the coin trick.

Did he reveal the numbers to someone before hand?

How about this solution? They spend many many hours filming every single possible outcome of the lottery only to show the correct clip of the numbers shown. Which is why it took 1 year to do! Is this possible? ow many different combinations are there?

He has done this before, remember the coin trick where he flipped 10 heads in a row?
14 million different combinations?

at 10 minutes per show.

140 million minutes.

= 583333 days

=1598 years.

I don't think thats how he did it.

Infact it would be far far more than that as he also got the numbers in the correct order - i have no idea what the probability of that is.

If it was automated or used multiple people to film certain sequences assigned, this could be done? Seems feasible.

Of course he didn't. You can't predict the lottery.

I asked to see where his stunt stands, as a stunt or a true test. If he could have, I am sure he could have revealed the numbers before hand to a select and independent panel that would keep them under wraps. Therefore I assume its a stunt and would like to know how he did it.

I think i know how he did it. But we shall see on friday.

If its the way i think he did it, it just a bit of simple slight of hand and mis-direction. (his usual kinda thing)
The theory on the other thread is that it is a split screen, and that the LHS screen is frozen, has the numbers replaced, and then faded back in just before he reveals.
I think its simpler than that, he just walked past the balls that where in full view to another set off camera that someone put the right balls on during the draw.

An obvious clue that it was a switch was that the balls he used where all white and not coloured like the balls they use for the draw.

If it hadn't been a stunt, rather than just having a row of his own ping-pong balls, he'd have been out and bought the winning ticket and showed that to the camera wink

If it wasn't a stunt he had the performed the impossible, which isn't possible. Surely everyone knows this, knows it's a trick and was never expecting anyone to predict the lottery. C'mon.

Hi Richard, I have read all your posts and its very impressive. Till now, I thought Derren Brown can read pplz mind using NLP (saw a couple of his shows - an eve of wonders and Something Wicked This Way Comes). I was highly impressed with mr. brown - by reading this post and especially all your comments, i got to know its just a trick but the way he presents it make us feel as if he is a mind reader. I just want to thank you for your input. Cheers mate.

I don't think it could be an electromagnet under the stage to be fair - wouldn't that cause havoc with the radio mics?
its not magnets... in fact I can't recall any trick ever being done with magnets despite the fact that joe public often offer it up as the explanation (and that includes Copperfields flying which was most definitly not electromagnets)

Losander table is a rod running from the fingertip
if you ever watch it again look at Derrens right hand all the way through the trick

same principle as the all time classic "Zombie Ball"
Go on then - how does Copperfield fly??????
you don't want to know... its deeply disappointing

I've seen him live several times and really enjoy his shows.

A third you know how he does, another third you work out on the way home/over the next couple of days, and the final third you simply think WTF!!!

Always found his shows incredibly interesting and good fun. I especially enjoyed him showing 'mediums' for the charlatans they really are.

Just got back from watching Darren Brown performing live in Bournemouth.
All I can I say is mesmerising!

If you get the chance to see his Showman tour it is truly amazing.

I genuinely have not got a clue how he performs some of his illusions and probably best not try and figure it out just enjoy.
