for clarity SJA is is secular
Really, it seemed pretty Christian to me when the kids went to Badgers a couple of years ago.unlike a variety of other organisations SJA makes no stipulation on faith ( any or none ) ... and provides services on the basis of need and the legal status of the requestor ( i.e. there are regulatory implications with activity undertaken for other charities or with commercial businesses )

I think we should be told what these Jewish chappies carry in those big black hats...
Smaller hats. The big hats are worn in preparation for rain. If the big hat gets wet, the wearer can remove this and reveal the next hat that is a tiny bit smaller, but dry.
In terms of how many hats are stacked on each other, I haven't a clue about the exact number. I do know it happens though.

We have Police, they drive around in cars with "POLICE" on them.
This is scarcely different to the devout "sharia zone" or "Moslem Area" policing that was discussed a while ago here on PH.
It only differs because so far they haven't confiscated anyone's beer/bacon yet.

Go read about some of the confrontations in parts of the East End;

Slightly OT. But, it may have some bearing on this and other threads with a Jewish 'bent' and give some of you context. This is a prayer said at the every synagogue in the land each and every Saturday during the main service. Prayers of this type have been said by congregations in this country since early in the 19th century.
Note the words well. Then, maybe contrast and compare, perhaps?

Synagogue prayer said:
He who gives salvation to kings and dominions unto princes, whose kingdom is an
everlasting kingdom – may he bless
Our Sovereign Lady, Queen Elizabeth,
Philip, Duke of Edinburgh,
Charles, Prince of Wales,
And all the Royal Family.
May the supreme King of kings in His mercy preserve the Queen in life, guard her
and deliver her from all trouble and sorrow. May He bless and protect Her Majesty’s Armed Forces. May He put a spirit of wisdom and
understanding into her heart and into the hearts of all her counsellors, that they may
uphold the peace of the realm, advance the welfare of the nation, and deal kindly and
justly with all the House of Israel. In her days and in ours may our Heavenly Father
spread the tabernacle of peace over all the dwellers on earth; and may the redeemer
come unto Zion; and let us say Amen.
ETA: This prayer will also be seen prominently placed on the wall in each prayer hall.everlasting kingdom – may he bless

I see them all the time in Stamford Hill and Golders Green.

is protecting members of their community then I can't see the problem. This is scarcely different to the devout "sharia zone" or "Moslem Area" policing that was discussed a while ago here on PH.

It's one community the UK simple as.
An example of the Shomrim in action to counter religious segregation.

Some people seem to think that Shomrim are policing how religious people are or may be a vigilante type group. In their comment on the posters, they refer to the fact it was not them that put the notices up. The article makes clear these notices were put up on a temporary basis for a specific event. They (the signs) will have been viewed by the participants in the event as helpful, because none of the participants will have wanted to mingle with members of the opposite sex, same as at a wedding. But according to the article, Shomrim did not put up the signs. Shomrim are not policing religion - they are very often involved in assisting non jews, in the same way that their counterpart ambulance service - they are a community support/neighbourhood watch type organisationDon't get me wrong, I understand that just because this group work with the police, as indeed do most jewish security groups (I was a volunteer with the largest, CST, for many years), and are very keen to very much not be a vigilante group, it may be difficult to stop other 'security patrols', whether jewish or not, in starting up and then acting inappropriately. Slippery slope, discrimination etc. It's a valid argument. But this group do not practice in that way
It's also important to note that jewish security organisations do not by law need to even have a dialogue with the police. But they actively choose to do so. It is perhaps worth noting that it's important within the jewish religion to work within the laws of the country they are in. Now of course it wouldn't surprise me if there is the odd isolated incident of inappropriate behaviour, just as there is amongst the police or any other walk of life, but it is not supported, condoned, or encouraged

What action have the Shomrim actually taken?According to that article, the posters were put up but a Jewish sect, people complained and it is inferred that the council took them down.
All the Shomrim have done is to contact the sect to say a little more information on the posters would be helpful to how you are perceived in public.
