Well yes and no. Yes in that your statement is correct, but no as in people will always be making judgements and following social rules means social acceptability.

Nonsense.
If both parties are adults and content then it's of no-one else's business or moral judgement.
Half right. It's none of my business but I'm allowed to make a moral judgement. We all judge people all the time, and there's no law against it. I'm perfectly entitled to make a moral judgement about someone in their 60s hooking up or hitting on someone in their 20s. My moral judgement is that I think they are absolutely pathetic. And I'm allowed to express that view. If both parties are adults and content then it's of no-one else's business or moral judgement.
For the avoidance of doubt, I'm not talking about the abuse of power in relationships.

The most pious are usually the most heinous. Take a break, recalibrate and come back to the table with a straight head. Or toddle off the the airport and take your discussion up with the blokes off to Thailand.

Nope. I just happen to think that you're making up extreme scenarios to fit your belief that's all.
A wealthy celebrity paying thousands of pounds to a teenage drug addict for lewd pictures sounds pretty extreme to me. The other allegations of threats and abuse are pretty grim too.The whole "homophobic" thing is a smoke screen, as I suspect is the "mental health" issue. Media spin to shield a nasty, manipulative bully who used his wealth and privilege to exploit the vulnerable for warped sexual gratification. If Edwards was known for being critical of covid policies or mass immigration he'd be crucified for far less. As he works for the state broadcaster he is defended.
We all know that though, however much people contort themselves trying to pretend otherwise.

Didn't Edwards spend £30,000 or something like? Doesn't sound as if he was the one doing the exploiting to me.The whole "homophobic" thing is a smoke screen, as I suspect is the "mental health" issue. Do you have an limit on age difference you do consider acceptable?
Is 60 year old with 29 year old okay?
Is 60 the cut off when it gos from acceptable to pathetic?
Asking as I’m 56 and going out tonight.
Half your age plus 7, so 35 is your cut-off. Is 60 year old with 29 year old okay?

Wife has just turned 38 so I’m in the clear.
Best to check these things, wouldn’t want to run foul of the court of public opinion.

Now just because something isn't normal doesn't make it wrong. But in this case, in my opinion, it is.
As for saying you're not talking about the abuse of power in relationships, that's what Huw Edwards did. That's what we're talking about. Most people in their 60s hitting on people in their 20s are doing so from a position of power. I should think not many 60 y/o make up artists are pursued by 22 year old film stars. 60 y/o film starts pursuing 22 y/o make up artists, probably more likely.

No love. You've just speared off down 'Mental Lane' with the base and extremist opinion that those who don't 100% agree with your rhetoric must hold a view that is the polar opposite.

Thinking people in their 60s should not be hitting on people in their 20s is not an extremist position. It's quite worrying that some people think it is. Just go and make yourself a cup of tea, maybe relax over some housework and have a think about it all.

You're the only punter banging on and on about 60 yr olds trying to pull 20 yr olds. It's very clearly a serious obsession and one which even a couple of cups of tea, a biscuit and a little nap isn't going to fix for you. Maybe at least wear a bib to catch the dribble?
He wasn’t pulling, or hitting on him. He was paying him. A punter. Transactional. Moula. Money. Dosh. Whoring.
Not chicken feed but £30k. This isn’t a “relationship” this is a business arrangement, as such moralistic mothering about age stuff is irrelevant.
All was fine till the kids idiot mother killed his business!

As a parent of teenagers, if my 17 year old had a business that involved say washing cars or dog walking then I'd applaud their entrepreneurial spirit. Hopefully it will earn them enough to buy their first car or go on holiday with their friends. Great stuff. Not chicken feed but £30k. Selling lewd pictures to a 60 year old pervert from the BBC to fund a crack habit, less so. Nosey and moralising old buzzard that I am.
