At 59 this is most (the only) time I’ve been concerned being Jewish in the U.K.
So much so I’m thinking of changing my company name which is my surname.
Sad worrying times as we continued to amass an anti Jewish army here arriving both legally and illegally.
protesting is not against Jewish people in the UK, or against Jewish people anywhere, its against the actions of the Israeli government only. - its lazy to shout anti semitism. Maybe its been drilled into jewish people that to be against israeli government is to be against the whole jewish people - no ideal thats me speculating about zionism. im not jewish. So much so I’m thinking of changing my company name which is my surname.

"Amass an anti Jewish" army - again lazy to say all Muslim immigrants are anti sematic.

We have a small ( relatively ) unarmed Police service with no paramilitary capability and an ethos of policing by consent
Our peer nations, other than Ireland, police by authority and command
The Met mustered 1k police to control umpteen 1000’s of angry protesters.. to say that it only involves 7 arrests and no significant disorder is a WIN on the day

I hope you meant to type "Northern Ireland".Our peer nations, other than Ireland, police by authority and command
the Republic of Ireland is the only other European country that “polices by consent and the law in ROI is based on U.K. law and principles, just take a look at the Irish statute book and you’ll see what I mean
The PSNI police by the same principles as in GB and the ROI albeit routinely armed
The Garda is like GB predominantly unarmed, the only other Police force in Europe that is

The vast majority of those protestors are not anti-semites, but there will be some in amongst them. Of varying degrees... I would say DS is right to be a little concerned, it doesn't take a whole mob, just 1 or 2 to be wound up and looking for an excuse.
I'm not defending the actions of the Israeli government, and the way they are treating ordinary Palestinians is inexcusable. The protestors are marching for a "worthy" cause, it would just be nice if they had the same passion/enthusiasm to protest against the actions of Hamas.

Hamas are a terrorist organisation. They are also the legitimate government elected of Gaza with 30% odd vote of people who can vote. They will do anything to lead to the establishment of their own state, outside the rule of Israel government. What they did to the people of Israel last week is deeply wrong, I don't know anyone who supports that. I do know many people who say that the terror they felt is one that the Palestinians feel daily and everyone on both sides should be pushing to a 2 state solution with no more bloodshed.
no one wants to see more Israelis dead, or Palestinians dead.

Is Hamas the legitimate government? I’ve read on other posts that they won an election but have not allowed another vote since. I have no idea how much real support they still have amongst the population in Gaza. What they did to the people of Israel last week is deeply wrong, I don't know anyone who supports that. "No one" is rather a stretch, when there were anti-Israeli rallies before the bodies were even cold.
But the "it was a scam" crowd will continue to deny that the far left has an antisemitic bone in its body, while simultaneously cozying up with their "friends" in Hamas and Hezbollah.

The U.K. are very good at Evidence gathering and arresting offernders post event
In New York, comparable size, the NYPD put 48k officers on the street on Saturday in uniform
In France there has been serious disorder, likewise Germany and they have Police forces three times the size of the U.K. with large paramilitary elements
Really I don’t think the U.K. and in particular the Met deserve criticism in this case as the number 1 priority is keeping the peace and it seems they succeeded very well on Saturday
As for GB News reports let’s just take them with a pinch of salt
I kind of agree, but even the terrorist watch dog have shown concern. Our peer nations, other than Ireland, police by authority and command

You have people like Richard Barnard of the Palestinian Action/Extension Rebellion encouraging breaking the law yet as far as i know he has not been arrested, contrast this to the anti monarchy protesters, Lawrence Fox for example or Tommy Robinson - not that I support the English defence league or what ever organisation he ran.

The difference being that PH isn't full of people defending, sealioning or whatabouting the things that some of the far left have been saying.
