I believe the Secret Service has already made plans if Trump is imprisoned. He's probably the one former president who really needs protection, not just from his enemies but his fans are quite unhinged as well (probably a bigger risk than his enemies).As for it being a boring task... Been reported from multiple sources that there is no heavy handed NYPD enforcement or limited access to the courthouse. The reason that he's pissed is that none of his MAGA faithful have turned up.
Asked a colleague who is in NYC if this is true and they were able to confirm this - its deserted and no one there. Thought they did say that there are still a whole bunch of media trucks and their associated satellite dishes (but increasingly Starlink). So yeah, he's deliberately trying to drag up support.

I didn’t say political reasoning. SCOTUS has always been political, it is not that long ago that the Justices would be politicians. The legal reasoning, though, divides along similar lines to the political divides. The democratic appointed judges are never going to join in with the ‘historical’ interpretation that led to overturning roe vs wade for example.
